Masked Builder Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Just saw Prince of Persia. Boy that movie was good! Now I just need to get some more sets........ Quote
Ro87n Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Last movies I watched (a while ago) the Final Desination (2010) and iRobot. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 For the nth time - Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. For some reason, I really enjoy watching this comedy over and over again, it really cracks me up every time I catch it on Star Movies. Quote
Mraz Skintas Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I just watched The Invention of Lying. Thought it was quite good, funny and sad in some parts, but overall very well enjoyed. -'Skintas Quote
Gregorovich Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I went to see Red Riding Hood a couple of days ago with my friends. It was a darker, scarier version of the original fairy tale, and it was very good. I certainly recommend going to watch it! Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) I just went to go see Rio. It's absolutely hilarious! The actors did a wonderful job, and I have a feeling that it could swipe the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature from Cars 2 next year... (Which would be ironic, since the first Cars also lost the very same award to Happy Feet.) Edited April 30, 2011 by Mr_Malfoy Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 (Which would be ironic, since the first Cars also lost the very same award to Happy Feet.) Happy Feet Cars , which I saw for the nth time last night. I will never get tired watching this, I think it's wonderfully done for an animated movie, it has "heart" in the story. Which makes me wonder how will the sequel fare to the original, which will be tough to top IMO. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I caught The Truman Show last night, and found myself cheering for Truman to finally discover the harsh truth that his life is a reality show, even if I already know what will happen. Quote
RileyC Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I caught The Truman Show last night, and found myself cheering for Truman to finally discover the harsh truth that his life is a reality show, even if I already know what will happen. We had to watch that for an English visual text essay for school. We had to watch it three times in the space of three weeks. The first time it was pretty good but I could never watch that movie again, ever. Watched Gattaca the other day. Quite a good film, its got good insight as to how genetic engineering could effect our society soon. Its definitely worth a watch in my opinion. Quote

Its definitely worth a watch in my opinion. We watched that in science class. You know, to learn about... science... Good film. As for me, well I watched Scott Pilgrim twice. Don't judge me. I finally got it on actual DVD, see? First time was the movie itself, second time was the cast commentary of Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills) and Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells). I thought it was hilarious. You really feel it's just the four of them in a room, talking about whatever, and occasionally about the actual film itself. Love it. Quote
fred67 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Inception. Was OK, didn't live up to the hype. Took the kids to see Rio last week, that was quite good. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 The Kings Speech, watched it last night. A good film and I nice break from all the action stuff I usually watch. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Well on Mother's Day I took my wife and son to see Hoodwinked Two, oh so funny especially what happens to the singing almost blind mountain goat all the time ! Keep on laughing ! Quote
Fives Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Today I watched the extended version of Gladiator. I've seen it many times before, but I absolutely love it. One of my favourite films ever! Quote
Big Cam Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 The last movie I watched was more of a documentary on Hulu Plus. It was called Jedi Junkies and it was about super ridiculous hardcore Star Wars Fans, if you think you are a fan, and this isn't meant to be an insult, but watch this movie. I discovered I'm merely a fan, not even close to the crazy levels these guys take it too. Quote
Jargo Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Rio. Good fun movie. Didn't require much brain power. Lovely colourful nonsense. Also saw Gnomeo and Juliet. which could have benefitted from not having the music pulled from Elton John's back catalogue. However I'm guessing that for part financing the movie he stipulated the use of his songs to clinch the deal. it wasn't a bad movie but not brilliant. typical of British movies. close, but no cigar. Zeya Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I saw "Little Fockers" last night, to make my girlfriend happy. It was okay, but not that great. Next up we'll be watching "Tangled", also to make her happy. Quote
Lego Otaku Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 All 3 Chronicle of Narnia movies. The new ones, not the icky BBC version. Then I dug up my Chronicle of Narnia book to read the rest: 4 books, supposedly Magician's Nephew and Silver Chair are next to hit the big screen. Since Magician's Nephew takes place before rest of the series, the only reoccurring elements are: Aslan, the witch, lamp post, and wardrobe. Silver Chair takes place some 70 years after Dawn Treader and only Eustace and Aslan returns from previous series (along with a new character, a girl from Eustace's school) Quote

Budget I suppose, and bad acting. I watched them again a couple of years ago & couldn't stop laughing at how bad they were. The Silver Chair did have Tom Baker in it though. I wish they'd make movies of the 3 books that didn't get made into the TV show, instead of just rehashing what we've already seen. (Rehashing it well, mind you!) Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Saw Thor the other day, good flim very funny Quote
Zeya Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Ya, I heard that Little Fockers was crap. But Tangled was awesome! It was like the great old classic Disney movies. And now I saw Tangled on Friday with the girlfriend. This is the first non-Pixar Disney movie I've seen since... wow... I just checked the animated Disney movie list and the last one I saw was Tarzan back in 1999. Tangled was pretty good. The girl's hair was kind of grossing me out. She drags it everywhere and she never wears any shoes, to boot. Eew. Quote

(Rehashing it well, mind you!) Silver Chair and Magician's Nephew is listed as coming in a few years according to IMDB.com. So it may be possible that all 7 books will be done eventually. I did read somewhere that the studio is doing the movies in the order the books were written. Edited May 16, 2011 by Lego Otaku Quote
