'87 LEGO USA Catalog

Dear all,

I have noticed, that according to 'LEGO Collector's Guide' and Brickset ( http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?the...e&year=1987 ) three Blacktron sets were released in '87.

According to all the catalogs I have (all from Europe) Blacktron started '88.

Now I want to ask you for a favour - if you have any '87 catalog with blacktron sets in it could you let me know?

I assume it will be USA catalog, because one of the three sets was US-only.

I have a lot of Euro catalogs downloaded but none from the US during that period, so if anyone can point us towards them online, that would be good as well. Or... if someone had one and a trusty scanner.

I have a 1987 Europe catalog and a 1988 US catalog. The 1987 catalog has no Blacktron in it, while the 1988 catalog has all 5 Blacktron sets but only two, 6987 and 6976, are marked as new for the year. There is also a Dutch 1988 on Brickfactory that shows 4 of the Blacktron sets (all but 6954), and they are all marked new for the year. All this indicates that the other three Blacktron sets (6894, 6941, 6954) came out in 1987 in the US, a year earlier than Europe.

There are also some Futuron sets like 6990 that appear in the 1987 catalog I have but are shown as new in the 1988 catalog, so those seem to have come out in Europe a year earlier.

Thank you very much for that information is it possible for you to scan/take a picture of that page? (I would need all sets & description of the marker showing that 3 sets were older than '88) If you could do that please send me a message.

Im still interested in US '87 catalog so if there is anyone who has one, please let me know

Well, not sure exactly what catalog you're looking for, but there's a Medium U.S. Catalog selling on Bricklink. Would that have the information you need?

Oh, I forgot about that one. I have that too actually, and it does have the three Blacktron sets in it. The caption below each one says "Available April 1, 1987."

I just want to be 99.999% sure Blacktron was actually released in '87 and as a scientist just like to have strong avidence.
