After seeing Bobskink's magistral custom Xenomorph I decided to make a 'purist' version of this facinating alien lifeform.

I kept the 'black skelton' base as it is just perfect, and I toyed with the head, spine and tail design.

Even if it (obviously) can't be compared with Bobskink's really oganic piece, I'm quite happy with the result, especially the tail termination and the spines (those big claw/teeth pieces are just so useful!).

Here is a pic of the Xenomorph in 'action' agains a strangely long-haired space marine

Hello!

The alien looks really great like directly from the screen. Using the black skeleton figure with a brick-built head works just perfectly! :classic:

Thank you! I was worried the 'blocky' shape could look a bit off, but it came out better then I forsaw :classic:

You nailed the look perfectly......

I too like to think so

Nice! This is a great purist substitute to Bobskink's custom

Well, as said that's the idea behind my experiment. Of course, everybody can use the design freely!

I just love saying the name.

Xenomorph.

XENOMORPH.

ZEE-NO-MORF!

Nice brickbuilt head. Maybe use one of these in black to simulate the double-tongues?

Nice idea, YG-49! If I'll ever make an Alien attack scene, I'll use it

Fantastic MOC 'LuxorV' !

You nailed it so well, I not much of a fan of the Alien series, but like I just said you nailed it !

I'm a conformist! ! :alien:

That's one of my favourite things about LEGO models: even if you are not much in a series or concept, you can appreciate it and see it under a new light through them

I agree; there is always a thin line when brick building minifig-scaled versions of monsters: you have to make them complex enough to recreate their peculiar aspects, but you also have to keep them small enough to avoid fallin in the 'super deformed head' Japanise manga style.

I'm glad you think I kept it balanced :classic:

Hey Luxor! Great Alien! Sorry I didn't post here earlier, but I was unsure about how I felt about the head, which seemed allittle big to me. Since then however, I have completely changed my mind  In fact I think the largeness of the head sort of makes it allittle cute  It's not easy to make a purist alien, but I think you pulled it off (I once tried, and it looked like a black elite from halo.) I really like your use of the new Atlantis spike pieces! :classic:
