lisqr Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 After looking at the new world race line, I noticed the HUGE amount of stickers used on them. So the question is which set so far has the most number of stickers. I'll define it as most number of separate stickers, regardless of its area. Quote
General Magma Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I don't know which set has the most amount of stickers, but one of them is definately this one with 46 stickers. ~ General Magma Quote

That's part of the reason why this theme is turning me away. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Wow, you guys think big. The biggest I could think of was Jabba's Sail Barge, which has 28 Quote
Svelte Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 World Racers does look ludicrously over-stickered, even by recent standards. The Speed Racer sets were also super-stickered, but my gut feeling is that the most I've ever encountered was in the Exo-Force 7709 Sentai Fortress: Quote
Cwetqo Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 This is also huge (A4 size, from 8258 Crane truck) Quote
Svelte Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 This year's Technic sets look really over-decalled as well I still think 7709 wins - there are 27 individual stickers for 'bullet pock mark effects' alone Quote
brickzone Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) Although I don't like certain stickers, would prefer certain things to be printed, and certainly do not like stickers over assemblies... ...I actually love the challenge of getting the stickers applied just right. An extra challenge is certain stickers on curved parts (e.g. tight curve or large sticker). I've found the trick is to curl the stickers appropriately before application - no more edges of stickers coming unstuck! I also in some cases love the extra detail provided by stickers - I'm not against the inherent concept of having stickers in sets. Sentai Fortress stickers definitely are impressive! I wish I had that set! Edited February 16, 2010 by brickzone Quote

Inconspicuous Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I would say the biggest stickers in a set is the 10018 set If you're talking about this Darth Maul Bust, I think you're wrong. I don't believe any of the Statues like it have any stickers at all, for that matter. Sorry. Quote
Tanotrooper Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Maybe not the most stickers, but still: 8375 - Ferrari F1 Pit Stop The fact you had to put stickers on the minifigs (front AND back) really surprised me, as I believe it hadn't been done in years. (dating back to first classic town, space and castle sets). A lot of small stickers too, like the Italian flag or the Vodaphone (not sure about the name) logo. TT Quote
ILikePi Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) Over 140 stickers in 8154 Brick Street Customs, picture courtesy of starstreak: I think that I've taken the lead! Always remember that Racers sets have humongous amounts of stickers. EDIT: Medium sized sticker sheets include: 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull 10188 Death Star 10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT Edited February 17, 2010 by ILikePi Quote
Hewman Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I think the more important question is which set has the highest sticker to part ratio. Of the ones I own it would have to be one of the speed racer sets, but almost 50 stickers fora 200 piece set for one of those Ferrari ones is insane! Quote

(dating back to first classic town, space and castle sets). As I understand it, LEGO currently has a policy against printing other companies' names, logos, etc. on their bricks for corporate branding reasons, so anything with Ferrari, Shell, etc. logos has to be a sticker rather than a print, even if it's a minifig torso. I know this is a change from the past, as they've done prints on minifig torsos and other bricks with logos for real-world companies like Shell, but I believe that's the current stance, which is why all those Ferrari sets are so stickerrific - the cars, crew jackets, etc. are covered with company logos everywhere. Note that 8375 does actually have a couple printed elements, just not ones with company logos on them. Edited February 17, 2010 by Blondie-Wan Quote
Piranha Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) I got the 8161 Grand Prix on sale and it had a ton of stickers. First time I have seen a numbered sticker sheet EDIT: Maybe this topic should be about stickers that actually save LEGO money Edited February 18, 2010 by Macoco Quote
