LuxorV Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 After watching the official LEGO Universe trailer, and as a consequence of the ongoing craze for the beginning of the Beta testing, I decided to try my hand at a 'purist' rendition of one of the many Darklings' forms in the game. You can see the one i meant to reproduce in the following video (1:52 to 1:58 minutes ) And here is it in the actual bricks form (Just forgive the changes in colours, due to pieces availability ) Gallery here. Comments and critics are welcome LuxorV Quote
Xenophilius Studz Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Very cool! You got the Darkling on the the mark. These guys are hard to make in purism, do to their half-skeleton body and assorted other pieces. You could buy Mad-Eye Moody's leg-piece that has a Grey peg leg, making him more accurate. I hope LEGO makes a Darkling so you can make your own army of Maelstrom to attack your minifigs. Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Thats one Great custom fig LuxorV And thats the first time ive seen that video, I loved it! Great job creating that fig. CommanderFox Quote
LuxorV Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Thanks for the feedback I'm toying with the idea of making custom decals for the half-skeleton torsos, but I don't know when that will be. Anyway, updates may follow. LuxorV Quote
The Penguin Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Nicely done! And purist one, what's even better. Because sometimes it takes even more talent to create a purist minifig than a custom one! ) Looking forward to seeing the result of your experiment. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
brickzone Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Certainly gives a great impression of a darkling. The large tooth in the robot arm works well! I hope LEGO makes a Darkling so you can make your own army of Maelstrom to attack your minifigs. Yes, I too think if Lego Universe takes off, Lego could actually capitalise on it even more by selling associated Lego sets (and of course encourage entry into the game by those not yet taking part). I have read somewhere that you can actually buy your 'avatar fig' from TLG. Hopefully that´ll be possible for other figs as well... Edited February 19, 2010 by Dennimator Quote
