Rick Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 You really managed to create a nice and complete shop scene on such a small footprint. Nice work. These are the sets that are desperately missing from the Town theme: medium-sized buildings. I still remember the 636x range of the early 1980s. Some of the best small/medium sized classic town buildings are among those 10 sets... Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks 'rick' and 'sebby' for your kind comments ! I only have a little interior trim to do now and thats it - finshed and on to the next building ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
prateek Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Nice stickers. I think this is one of the best buildings in your town so far Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks 'prateek' for your kind words - I feel the stickers set these designs apart and like I said I have a little interior work still to go. I have four buildings to decide on to do next - a Foodland supermarket, a Holden or Ford dealship, a hotel or a Bridgestone Tyre Dealership with truck service bay in it. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) One word: great! I loved your MOC. I'm a conformist!. Regards Edited February 15, 2010 by The Player Nº1 Quote
jonwil Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Go for the Holden :) Don't forget a UTE in there :) Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 First things first......someone asked for a mirror ...............it wasn't easy at all but.............. This is the next sticker I came up with - it goes on the register counter - Bonds is a brand of underware in Australia. 'Jonwil' recommended a Holden dealership, well that will require me to make at least 1 Commodore and 1 Rodeo for the sales lot or showroom. I have choosen a Bridgestone Select Tyre Dealership to be my next challenge - I already have stickers printed to go and be using the components from my past two tyre dealerships and 7642 garage. In fact the roller door section of my 7642 is to under go serious MODing !!! Comments very welcome ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
jonwil Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 You need a commodore sedan, a commodore UTE and a Colorado to make it look really good (the Rodeo is gone now). Although even the Colorado isn't very popular, most Holdens I see are Commodores or Commodore UTEs. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Yeah your right 'Jonwil', but I forgot to say that my cars will be either 5 or 6 wide - I know must MOCer's steer clear of 6 wide because of trucks - but I also want to do an SAPOL highway partol car with two officers ! Anyway thanks for your comment again ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 While planing my town centre the other day I noted that I was a 8x16 base plate out to fill a possible gap, so I thought menswear stores in country town double also sometimes as sporting goods stores too. So I give you a new W.I.P. of a MOC which is a MOD for my other MOC........confused yet ? New Mannum Sportspower There's no stock in there yet and stickers are yet to be made, but this is what it looks like......... The background story is that this was an old shop, Mensland brought for a song and merged it in to the rest of their building. Watch you see is what you get, like I said currently minus stickers and stock, maybe also some display/storage too. Comments as always very welcome and I'm a conformist! everyone ! P.S. stickers will be done around Tuesday and hunt down the stock as well. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 It's great!Greetings Thanks 'The Player No1', don't forget to look up Sportspower store that I posted, it now has big double windows and signwriting on it. Ah well, then I'll stick just one picture here....... .......just in case you don't want to go to Sportspower etc.,. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Some people asked for more signage..... you got it ! How's this ? Comments very welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
guy montag Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) Comments very welcome and I'm a conformist! ! I'm really liking your city mocs Lightning Tiger. They are all so simple but really effective. A little brick certainly goes a long way. Good use of trans parts especially the inverted curved trans piece. I'm definitely going to have a go at stickers myself, you do them very well. Have you ever done a highlight/ trim colour for the menswear store, its hard to imagine it, but it would be interesting to see how it goes with the neutral white and grey. I Like the double window sports store too. I like to see picutres of your MOC town altogether. Do you let your kid(s) play with it? Edited April 6, 2010 by guy montag Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Thanks 'guy montag' for your kind words , yes I do let kids play with the town buildings, check out my street scape postings to see how all my buildings work together. Again thank you and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 Updates minus the sporting goods department, that will be done shortly. What do you all think of the flooring ? Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Since I now plan to replace the sporting goods store with an IGA grocery store instead, I took it upon myself to redesign the Mensland store again to actually look like an old style store frontage. Now at least the sidewall has some coverage, hence the new design going next the menswear store (not the enterance side - but where the sports shop was) will also be a old style grocery/general store type building - with some modern features inside but old world out (back to the 1920's). Comments welcome please - your feedback keeps these designs and redesigns comming ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
