LegoLover Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Awesome the Soccer/Football looks better then i thought it would Quote
gylman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Wow! So many sets to see. Can't............... Absorb.................It.................. All.................... Mind.............. Melting................... Actually , Duplo 2006 looks awesome. Wish I was 4, not 40. Technic looks good (fire truck, that treaded crane! and of course ModelTeam type truck)! Count me out on ExoForce, and Batman... meh, a mishmash. Not my cup-o-tea. The Batmobile looked better in pictures than in real life. Figs look good from a distance. Wish we had better pics of the StarWars sets. They look nice from a distance. Clearly the 2006 theme winner is TECHNIC!!!!! Go Lego! :-D Quote
Chuck Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 These pics are already known. They are from the Nuernburg toyfair. -l2k- Quote
Bricks0937 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Those pics are great! the ones that i didn't know about were the Duplo Pirates. They look AWESOME! hopefully lego puts out SYSTEM Pirates again. Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Count me out on ExoForce, and Batman... meh, a mishmash. Not my cup-o-tea. The Batmobile looked better in pictures than in real life. Figs look good from a distance. Still, its a theme with alot of useful bricks. Personally, I'll be building my own interpretation of the Burtonmobile to replace the set version. Later. Quote
Hobbes Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Actually , Duplo 2006 looks awesome. Wish I was 4, not 40. I noticed that, too. I only remember my 4th birthday very faintly and thus don't really qualify as Duplo clientele, but you never know what might "come along" The Batmobile looked better in pictures than in real life. You mean the UCS or the MF-set? I don't like the UCS at all. IMHO they messed that up pretty bad. The MF-car looks a lot better. Although it's not my theme, either... Clearly the 2006 theme winner is TECHNIC!!!!! Go Lego! :-D I think I have to agree. I do have very few Technic sets from the early 80s, but the sets of late made me ponder if I should get me a few, even if just for display... Quote
snefroe Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 thank god... i'm not the only one who likes the duplo sets more than several MF themes... :$ especially that small duplo pirate boat is very nice. we may be able to salvage that for a MF pirate theme... we'll see.... don't like batman, don't need batman... my wallet will be gratefull city doesn't appeal to me either, even tho medics always come in handy, the crane is nice but i think i'll pass... you don't see much of the trains. i'm also interested in the entire diorama of the train set, i would have liked to buy one of those houses, the bridge... they look pretty nice don't like exo very much ... but several parts are interesting. i'll keep on eye on BL thru out the year... technic seems ok. i'm not a die hard fan, but who knows... Quote
Hobbes Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 don't like exo very much ... but several parts are interesting. i'll keep on eye on BL thru out the year... I saw some Exo Force sets displayed in a store window the other day. And I must admit that they looked nice. But other than displaying I wouldn't know what "to do" with them. Not even with the parts. Quote
gylman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Hobbes, it's the UCS batmobile that does not seem to lok as nice in "real life" as in the pictures we have seen until now. IMHO anyway. Quote

Not even with the parts. the black support parts, the canopies, some slopes, these brown parts of the sentry... i wouldn't think it's very difficult to use them on space ships.... Quote
Vader Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 From what i can see of the batman figs the joker and robin look great. Quote
MattZitron Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I've never gone for a UCS set before, but I'm DEFINATELY getting that Batmobile. Its gorgeous. Duplo Pirates!!! What's Phes' opinion? Quote
Hobbes Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 the black support parts, the canopies, some slopes, these brown parts of the sentry... i wouldn't think it's very difficult to use them on space ships.... That is true. Problem is - I don't build space ships I've never gone for a UCS set before, but I'm DEFINATELY getting that Batmobile. Its gorgeous. Ah, well, judging by your avatar you're biased Quote
Zane Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Yeah, that'd be my gallery.... Anyways, that new Vikings Dragon has a cool new coloured flame sword. TT Quote
snefroe Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 talking about the vikings, these carts look huuuuuge! great sets for army building, now we can only hope they're not too expensive... Quote

Lost Viking Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Phes is going to go nuts, new pirates! Well, I mean Duplo pirates... Quote
Christian Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Phes is going to go nuts, new pirates! Well, I mean Duplo pirates... We can allways hope that there will be system pirates in 2008(maybe?) pure guessing: 2004-jack stone pirates 2006-duplo pirates 2008(?)-system pirates(?) Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Exactly what I was thinking for 2007 though !!! Why??? Several reasons !! * Duplo is sometimes ahead of "System": like the airport & planes * Vikings are over * TLC need a least a new theme(s) for 2007. Batman, Exo, city (...) will possibly have new sets BUT we need new themes !!!! It is doubtfull that TLC will release a space theme per se in the near future simply because the sales of the previous ones were bad !!!! Just a couple of thoughts on the dreamed come back of Pirates !!!!!!! Yoda Quote

We can allways hope that there will be system pirates in 2008(maybe?) pure guessing: 2004-jack stone pirates 2006-duplo pirates 2008(?)-system pirates(?) aahhh... yoda's famous theory: a theme starts in the duplo category and moves up with that particular customer/generation all to way to MF world.... i think it's wishful thinking, but who knows? many pirate parts are in production for other sets/themes... whatever happened to HP, btw? i mean we're getting some sort of a picture of what to expect this year, and so far no HP at all... Khorne Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 The Vikings sure look cool. Too bad both of the catapults now have bley wheels (in the other pics, their was one with brown ones). Oh well, I guess they'll have to work to for my WW1 German Army project . Quote

There is (as far as I know) no harry potter sets this year, because there is no new harry potter film this year. the next one, order of the pheonix, is coming out next year. Btw they just started filming it this week. Quote

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away-We first had system pirates 2004-Then we got Jackstone Pirates. The line sucked. 2006-Now we are getting Duplo pirates. Well, it Quote
