WIP: New Mannum - My Aussie Town

Here we go minus half the unbuilt buildings and road plates, plus riverbank and train track, also bridge !

Whew !

You can see all my Aussie MOC's so far created by me here, I'm at a park as I write this post so hence the park in the background (guess it adds to the bush/country feel of it in a way).

Let me know what you all think ?

Looks great there.

Other than the aforementioned pub and menswear store, I think what you really need is a roadhouse, those are everywhere in the bush and would look great.

Plus if you are doing vehicles, you gotta do a UTE (after all, UTEs are an important part of bush culture). Don't forget the guy in the drivers seat with the bushman's hat on and the dog in the back (although I dont know if its still legal to have dogs in the back of UTEs or not)

I'm thinking of doing a BP roadhouse, why ? I'm glad you asked.

To go with the 3180 tanker, I'm not puting Octan on the the truck, but the colours and stickering will be that of BP (I hope) !

This is great, right along with your post office and phone, this looks very spot on, the stickers although usually hated by most afol's, look great and really bring the MOC together.

I currently working out the size of the menswear store, it's going to be a corner shop style, maybe a bit of Town Plan 50's injected to it.

I nearly missed the phone box (wondered why the end of your post office looked orange) DOH, glad I caught it though, for something so small it really adds a certian something.

As for your pub, I will be interested in how that turns out, I have just ordered some bricks to try and build one my self.

More buildings are comming, the pub and supermarket might be last as they are going to be as or more complex than the Mitre 10 hardware store.

Since the tyre dealership is finished - I thought of night shots - there has been a power surge in New Mannum damaging the street lights etc., so the ETSA crews are out fixing them !

The Toll Ipec truck has just made it's last overnight express delivery of tools to the hardware store and luggage to the Mensland store too.

Having spent much of my youth help my dad deliver goods to country businesses, some in the dead of night - I know how a town looks in the dead of the night !

(I'm thinking a massive road work construction scene is in order showing off this "ground breaking" day for the town)
