For my first 2010 set, I'm planning on getting the new Lego Fire ship - 7207

I don't have a proper floating boat yet, so I'm quite excited.

I love the look of the ship, but the extending arm on the back looks a bit off. After a couple of weeks I'm planning on taking it off and upgradeing it. But I don't really know what to, so I'm looking for some inspiration :classic:

I was thinking turn the arm into a crane so that it can lower the raft into the water/pick it up when done.

Or maybe get rid of the raft all together, put the arm right at the back, and use the space where the arm would go to make an extra big cabin. It would have the wheel house at the front, all the fire gear in the room at the back, and on top add another room/platform.

Another idea was to replace the arm with a ladder/bridge mechanism. That way it can pull up along things on fire, lower the birdge, and the firemen can cross it to rescue who ever is on the other side.

But I really dont know, so if anyone has any great ideas (and don't mind shareing them) I would love to hear them :classic:
