Rayman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hello everyone, it's been a long long time since I've posted a new figure. Here's one I recently completed as a birthday present for a friend of mine. He's a huge fan of One Piece, so I thought that it'd be a great idea to create the main character in LEGO. Here he is: Luffy D. Monkey I hope you guys like him : ) Rayman Quote

Rayman Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 I appreciate your comments, and I am glad that my custom has been well received. tin7: The Luffy in the photos on brickshelf is the only one I'll ever make, as it was intended purely as a gift. I don't even have one for myself! So i don't plan on mass producing these figures. So the figure is defintely a one off. I was glad that I could take some photos of it before I gift wrapped this on Sunday so that I could share this. However tin7: I do have some spare decals left over from making this, and I would be more than happy to make these avaliable to anyone who is interested. Just send me a PM, and I'll see what I can do. Nightshroud99 and tin7: The hat was made using this piece as a base. I had the bottom half cut off, and attached to a 3mm circular piece of styrene, which formed the the basic shape of the hat and the brim of it. Modeling clay was then added to the motorcycle helmet to beef up it's roundness. Once the proportions were right, I sanded down the hat and gave it a coat of yellow and red paint : Burman The face decal was the most difficult to apply - as you can imagine! The photos don't show it but the actual face decal only wraps around the "face" part of the head. The top before I applied a coat of black acrylic paint to it is actually flesh. I hope to show more of what I have been up to soon, and thanks again for looking! Quote
