Waiting for my turn [Poem]

Here I am, leaning against the cold steel

Yells, screams and bodies fill the hall'

Yells of commands that were unanswered

Crews of men rushing down and up

Bringing the wounded here

The sounds of anti-aircraft fire

Loud even to be heard even in here

The medics plea for me to drop my weapon

I couldn't let it go

Why I don't know

All I know is I'm waiting

Waiting for my turn

My turn to die
