lightningtiger Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I'm back with a redesign of two of my MOC's and both rest on the same base plate (small pieces are WIP still). New Mannum's Octan gets a makeover ! So here we go - some photos are with flash and others with natural light. You see the petrol pumps have been modified again, going for a studs showing finish on most things in this design, also the tyre dealership is now just a humble garage - small just like you would find in a country town. Comments are very welcome ! Footnote - there is a gap between the bush and sign blank which is to be filled by something I haven't worked out yet. Quote
CMP Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 A couple of workers waiting to wash a car? An air pump? Quote
JayDuck Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Looks good. I really like the air compressor. Quote
prateek Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Nice update. The building is a really nice improvement Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Thanks 'Prateek', 'Jayduck' and 'CallMePie' for your commments. Yes I might do a modern air pump stand out the front - I did once before in earlier designs. Not too many small country towns have a car wash in them - but I'll think about a really modern one sitting on the edge of town (hell0 LDD) ! Updating again A.S.A.P. Quote
CMP Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Not a car wash, a bunch of dudes with brushes or a hobo with a bottle of beer and a wet newspaper. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Not a car wash, a bunch of dudes with brushes or a hobo with a bottle of beer and a wet newspaper. No, but the hobo getting thrown out of the towns only pub (bar) might be a good idea (you are getting me thinking) ! Quote
sens1992 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Great Octan service station Lightningtiger. It reminds me of rural gas stations / garages. Unfortunatly, they tend to disappear with the years... With that said, yours is great providing more than a tank full for all your LEGO motorists... Good job. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Thank you 'Sens1992' for your kind comments. I'm still working on the air/water point design, going to start to use LDD and match it up will a real one, be done A.S.A.P. Quote
