Perterz Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Good day all, When this set became available I bought one out of interest, I loved it! After assembling and admiring the spider I had the idea to buy another one to build the coupe. Things got out of hand ever since, I was going to build a coupe but it had to be white! A couple off BrickLink orders later I was able to assemble this dream. Now several weeks after the build I decided to put on the stickers today and shot a couple pics. I also modded a rearwing and frontspoiler underneath the original kit. Only problem was getting this part in white (it doesn't exist so I MOC'ed another solution). Anyway here are the pics, this is how the build turned out and how it looks right now: Thanks to the stores on BrickLink who provided the needed parts, I still need to order a few more to complete some errors I made. Thanks for the interest! Kevin. Edited January 16, 2010 by Perterz Quote
Legostein Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Hello! The spoilers make it even more speedy. On the third image with the front spoiler details you also see the headlights. Is the outer 1x1x2/3 slope only held in place by the sticker? They will be dragged away in a fast driven narrow cruve. The two-studs-wide version of them, the 1x2x2/3 slopes are also available in white these days. I hope they're in one of the BrickLink orders you mentioned. Cheers, ~ Christopher Edited January 17, 2010 by Legostein Quote
Ras 74 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Overall a good custom paint job you have done I really like the front and back spoiler. It is so good that there now is two wide cheese slopes. It looks so much better to use those when you need to use several next to each other. I can´t for my life understand why they didn´t use that on the Emerald. Was it that far from when the double cheese slope came out that it was impossible to change that I like your white Galardo very much!! I only collect the Ferraris myself. Quote

Cheers, ~ Christopher Yes indeed, the sticker holds the 2 tiny slopes together which is 1 of the errors :) Actually it was more like figuring out I needed 2 of those 1x2x2/3 cheese slopes but they are rather hard to find and none of the 5 shops on BrickLink where I was shopping for this project had them. I needed a couple more white normal cheese slopes so I ordered 4 more to stand in for the 2 1x2x2/3's. While building I noticed there was a need for those 2 at the heads.. Well I restarted on an older MOC and I need parts for that so missing or error parts for the white Gallardo, like some more dark red and red parts to complete the interior, are put on that list to shop all at 1 time. Thanks for the input :) I can´t for my life understand why they didn´t use that on the Emerald. Was it that far from when the double cheese slope came out that it was impossible to change that I'm with you here, I also don't understand why there aren't 1x2x2/3 cheese slopes in the Emerald Night but there probably is a good explenation for that. Optimus Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Looks far better than the original model The red interior looks great. Quote
prateek Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Yay! I love this MOD! I really like how the black runs all the way down and to the spoiler. I also like the red interior. All I need to see is a lime green one now. Quote

Thanks, Lime Green or Orange was an option I was thinking about but nearly impossible to complete since so many needed parts are not available in those colors.. Quote

I know, it's a shame. I hate how TLC chickened out and made the official set in yellow instead of signature Lamborghini colours Oh, and BTW, I think the pedals inside should be dk. grey or black instead of white. Yeah a Lime one would be monumental The pedals are Light Bley as the original, haven't thought about changing them yet tho. Kevin. Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 While that's nice and all, this thread is three years old. Please keep that in mind when posting. Quote
