mahjqa Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I already had my fun with snow, so the next plan was to make a vehicle that would deal with ice properly. The result: Making the video was a lot of work. Since I wasn't happy with the earlier versions. (The green car was only RWD and thus total and utter crap) Also, all of it was recorded with a camera in one hand and a PF remote in the other. That stuff is tricky. If you want to make your own, remember to leave out differentials. Quote
DLuders Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I like it! 4-wheel "drifting" and power slides! What fun! Quote
Burf2000 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I tried using my robot in the snow which was a foot deep and no joy, love the ice racing idea but cant find any clear ice! Quote
Big Cam Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Wow, I've never seen a powered LEGO car like this before. Looks like fun! Great vid too. Quote
Enilder Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 lol poor duck! looks fun! is that a nearby lake? Quote
ProducePrincess Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I loved it when you had your car go after that duck , and the music for the video reminded me of mario cart. How many motors and other power functions did you use for this? Quote
Milan Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Fantastic video! It looks like the blue car has surprisingly good ice performance! Great! Quote
mahjqa Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 looks fun! is that a nearby lake? Most of it was filmed on a channel, and the last bits were filmed beneath a bridge. I needed clear ice, and that was the only place that didn't have snow on it yet. How many motors and other power functions did you use for this? The first three cars use one XL motor, and a PF medium motor for steering. The final car uses two XL motors. To power them, I used a rechargeable PF battery. Simple reason; to improve the power to weight ratio, it's easiest to drop the weight. Quote
