Seems everyone is making pick up trucks so here is my version. It uses the tow truck chassis. Two different sides (mean black and nice white) for feedback. Has rear window and high stop light. Note that black is hard to photo and I will replace the blue piece when I can. :classic:

G'day 'Allansmith' - I see you have been busy again.

Not bad go a retro pick up truck, all black in my opinion is the better of the two.

Now the front end might still need a bit of work done to it.

Here's an old Ford pick up.....red_ford_pick_up.jpg.

Keep up the good work 'AllanSmith' ! :sweet:

Nice design, I would go for the all black though.

And maybe try to lower the sidepanels on the hood? I think that would look even better.

But where are the dice in the windshield, this car needs a "redneck indicator"

These MOC's never stay still :hmpf_bad: Removed the curved tank under the rear and replaced it with twin exhaust pipes. Removed the high stop light because old pickup trucks never had them. Reduced the width of the front grill. Given it a load of kitchen cupboards.

Enjoy :classic:

A couple of people building pickup trucks isn't quite everyone, of course, but they do seem to be popular all of a sudden. I like the slightly retro look of this one. the all black is definitely better. Since you're going for a classic look, it might be an idea to replace the tail lights with headlight brick and a red 1x1 round plate. I don't know whether it'll be any good, but it might be worth checking it out.

Cheers,

Ralph

I really like this design especially the back :classic:, but the blue parts on the front really distracts from the great design.

Thanks for the great comments. As with my other MOC's I only have a limited supply of bricks. To replace the blue brick and to get some black headlight bricks I will have to do a Bricklink order. I do miss my unlimited supply of spare sets and bricks that are in storage 400km away

Edit: Found 2 black headlight bricks in my Advent set and the black brick with studs on front is in the new City repair truck. That should be on sale soon in NZ :classic:

I applaud you for still building MOCs, even with limited parts. I know it is pretty annoying to know that you do have some parts you need, but that can't get at them. When I moved to the UK a few years ago, all the LEGO I took with me was a single Creator set. All my other parts stayed behind in The Netherlands. It was an excellent excuse to buy lots new stuff though

Cheers,

Replaced rear tail lights and also replaced tinted windscreen with clear.

Hello!

There are curved elements everywhere here. Which I find fascinating. :classic: Particularly nice are the 3x3 corner plates for the front of the vehicle. That's quite unusual but works very well here! :classic:

I guess you aren't the only one on Eurobricks with the same opinion.

The new update with headlight bricks and 1x1 round plate looks better I think, it has a more classical look. :classic:

I don't think the orange cupboards are secured that good though, it looks they can fly off the truck quite easy.

Wanted to comment this but didn't have a chance to do so, until now.

This is a nice pick up truck that you have done there, and I love the way you have form its front and rear with cool black bricks to form its chassis. Thanks for sharing it with us, and I like the black over white.
