YG-49 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Yes, I've been creating more customs. This time, El Laberinto Del Fauno, or, Pan's Labyrinth. I've focused mainly on the figs from memorable bits. Captain Vidal The main villain in the film and a scary one at that. Possibly one of the most evil non-fantasy (modern day) villains cinema has ever seen. I've made two versions of him, the latter to be seen soon. Closeup on the face is in my avatar. The Pale Man Now this guy is a truly haunting specimen, he eats children and at one point Ofelia's fairies. The Farmers Scene Scariest bit 'o the movie here. Vidal gets impatient with some farmers that say they were hunting rabbits, so he caves one of their faces in, and shoots the other. He later finds the rabbits in dad's satchel. "If my father says he was hunting rabbits, then he was hunting rabbits." *Another* view. After caving the others face in, he shoots his dad. (Twice, to be precise.) "You KILLED him!!?!?" The figs from this scene: The other Vidal I mentioned earlier. Militarily dressed. Pa. Note the satchel in which Vidal finds the rabbits. Son. I immediately burned (Not really) this fig after taking this pic cos it's so disturbing. If you stare at the middle of the blackness for long enough, you actually start to see how deep the hole is. Thanks for viewing. I may add figs, like the doctor, (My personal favorite character from the movie) or a guerrilla. Quote
BlueBard Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Really nice, I just saw the movie in spanish TV some days ago and I must say they're pretty nice! BTW, in the "farmer's" scene Vidal does not kill the poor guy with a knife but with a bottle of wine he brought in the satchel, doesn't he? But i suppose it's still scary enought, especially with that fantastic face decal Quote
Sandy Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Oh, Pan's Labyrinth! It's definitely one of my favorite movies, I even have a poster of it on the wall right next to me. It is so emotional, so ugly yet so beautiful at the same time. Those scenes you've portrayed are really strong and heart-wrenching. The Pale Man is one of the scariest creatures I've ever seen in a movie, yet I agree that Vidal is the most villainous character in the movie. You've done a great job captivating the characters into minifigs. I would've never expected to see this movie portrayed in EB in any form, so kudos for that as well. Quote
Wout Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I would like to put captain Vidal in the dinnerroom of the Pale man and don't let him come out. Vidal was such a (censuur)! Quote
ADHO15 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Excellent. Work, YG-49. I wondered who the fig in your avatar was. How about having a go at Ofelia or Pan, two of the main characters. I remember watching this for the first time in Spanish class at school. Scary. I saw it cheap on DVD a few days later and picked it up. Very good film. BTW, in the "farmer's" scene Vidal does not kill the poor guy with a knife but with a bottle of wine he brought in the satchel, doesn't he? True. Quote
Jebediahs Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Haha well done! Vidal is a bad mamma-jamma. He's a scary dude and my 2nd favorite villain after The Joker. ORC! Quote
YG-49 Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) BTW, in the "farmer's" scene Vidal does not kill the poor guy with a knife but with a bottle of wine he brought in the satchel, doesn't he? But i suppose it's still scary enought, especially with that fantastic face decal True. Huh? You're joking! Fine. I shall create a custom wine bottle and post a revamped version soon. Excellent. Work, YG-49. I wondered who the fig in your avatar was. How about having a go at Ofelia or Pan, two of the main characters. I'll try Pan, but he'll be a challenge. nintha Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Wow! Although I have never seen the movie but I do own it, I think. So I will see it this weekend. Anyway these look really good and they look like the reference pictures . The Pale Man is best and the creepist of them. I really like these and can't wait to see more. Quote
YG-49 Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 So, I got a request, so, I spent about 4 hours (over 2 days) making this guy, THE FAUN! Legs are unfortunately, not my idea. I tried to keep to three main colors, light grey, light blue, and grey, with a hint of brown. user Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm sorry YG-49 but I'm really not liking that faun the other two were good but I dislike this one. 1-The paint looks messy and there are some places where paint wasn't needed. (Clip on top of head, arms.) 2- In the pics he doesn't look very blue too me. Sorry that's just my opinionon. Quote
dabulls03 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Wow, those are some impressive custom figs YG-49! The body of the pale man reminds me of Snake's body from SPIII. The pale man has to be my favorite; he is so damn creepy... Vidal and the farmer with the smashed in face are also really cool. These figs really make me want to watch Pan's Labyrinth (I still haven't seen it). Quote
Blackheart Brit Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 These all look really good. I got lost in the blackness of that guys face hole. Scary. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I've never even heard of this mvie but those figs in the first post look great, it really makes me want to look it up. Great job. Quote
