Big Cam Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Wow, talk about overpriced. I can't believe no one has succesfully done this before. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Gasp! Lego is fashionable! I must leave and only return when no one else likes it anymore I got to say, the price is a bit insane, all things considered. But then it isn't "designer" without at least two digits in the price. Good for them, creating a business from nothing that has cracked a lucrative market of dull rich people Quote
Derek Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 It's only a matter of time before Lady Gaga is seen in some sort of Lego outfit... Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 It's only a matter of time before Lady Gaga is seen in some sort of Lego outfit... She will say it signifies building your career and fame up from the bottom, just like wearing mutilated Kermit dolls was a statement against fur, wasn't it? Quote
RileyC Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 man thats a bit overpriced. Its a great idea and there is a person I know on the internet that sometimes does minifig necklaces. Quote
LegoDad42 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/fashi...worn_by_ka.html Thought this was interesting when I stumbled on it reading today's Daily News (YES, I still read the physical newspaper...yeesh ) Wonder how far they can take it. Maybe 14k gold lego bricks, sterling silver....platinum...ya' never know. Quote

FiletOFish Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 ridiculously overpriced, not a tad bit overpriced. and with 100% copying capabilities, there is zero barriers to entry. i don't see this as a sustaining business at all. Quote
LegoDad42 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Thanks WhiteFang for merging. I didn't realize there was already a thread for this. I also looked into other Lego jewelry and there seems to be a few people doing it much nicer than these kids using sterling silver accents and 14k gold. Much nicer designs by artists Jacqueline Sanchez and many others. The young men's benefit was having famous people wear their designs. Their art seems too awkward and simple BUT, they got a business going so god bless. I wonder if any women on this board wear Lego jewelry. Quote
Teddy Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 What?... This just shows taxes are way too low for the rich and famous. The rich and famous should spend some money on taxes so the state can make education free for those and other boys and girls, and have a functional child care system for children in their predicament. This is just an awful situation for those boys. This is just not sustainable and they will fall in a black hole again after their fifteen minutes of fame. Quote
