Kalahare Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Hello my friends, this MOC was created few months ago, but it is still my best-loved model. It is my own design. Yes, it is again in 8-wide scale, it is heavy equipment This type of crane is intended for freeing/rescuing in any case of disaster, building collapse, etc. More images: BS Gallery Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Very nice, although it must be an American thing because as far as I know we don't have cranes like this for a fire service's around Australia. I like the way you have done the legs for when the crane is in operation - VERY CLEVER ! Nice go at the front end of the truck, but the plate holding the headlights, grill and winch/bumper doesn't look right - it seems to be too high by 1 to 2 plates (And that's all I can fault - the rest is perfect). Great job 'Kalahere' ! Quote
Milan Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 One of the cutest cranes I have seen! And i have seen a lot of cranes, they are one of my favorites. Very nice design and looks great from any angle. Outriggers are indeed clever, so is the cabin, although I don't like the same thing as lightningtiger, front lights are too high, and they look out of place. It would be good to lower them, but I imagine it would be hard! Great work, Milan! Quote
Kalahare Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Hello Lightningtiger and Milan, thank You for your comment. I agree, the front plate is too high, but I has no ideas how to rework it. I put it into my ToDo list Very nice, although it must be an American thing because as far as I know we don't have cranes like this for a fire service's around Australia. I my country is crane in charge of Fire Department standard equipment (in bigger towns or industrial areas). In smaller town and FD stations are using commercial cranes. Legostein Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Hello! A really great 8-wide fire engine! I also know such trucks from the country I live in. Your version is excellently done with so many functional and working details. As already mentioned by the people before me, the concealing stabilising legs are great! And I also like the use of those trans-blue old-style bulb covers. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
sens1992 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Very good looking crane Kalahere! I really like the front bumper and your choice of wheels. This would make for a nice LEGO city set! Awesome! Quote
wooootles Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think it's an 8-wide that is much more proportioned alongside current CITY 6-wide trucks than the CITY 8-wide trucks (because those are just hueg). I like it. The black wheels make it more... heavy duty-like, I guess Quote
