Zach M. Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Long time reader but only posted a few times. Blue Flatbed modified using various Lego standard building techniques. Later Quote
aawsum Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 That second axle looks really good on it. I also like how you added the clips to attach the chain on it, simple, but effective. Nice job Quote
Milan Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I feel like you should extended flatbed, to match double axles on the back. Chains are really nice touch! Quote
dr_spock Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Nice. Interesting way to attach and reduce the slack on the chains. Quote
Rick Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Nice MOD. The attachment of the chains is pretty clever (and simple!) indeed. Quote
curtisrlee Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Wow, I really like the chain idea! PS are you ZachMG or Mind Game Studios on YouTube? Quote
Zach M. Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) Wow, I really like the chain idea! PS are you ZachMG or Mind Game Studios on YouTube? No, that's not me. The chain idea just came to me after I couldn't find enough 1 x 2 with Arm Ups in white. I only had 3... ;) I'm suprised that nobody caught my modified wind turbine rig in the background. lightningtiger Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Very nice additions to that truck 'Zach M' ! Chain idea is very clever, though I agree with 'Milan' a little on the length of the actual tray top since it has an extra rear axle. Looks like you have taken the colour selection from the 7990 cement truck of 2007 - good work ! Keep up the great work 'Zach M' ! Quote

When I first modified it I had light gray and all blue. It didn't look like an official set. So I went back to the drawing board on it and kept messing with it. While deciding on the colors I kept making it sturdier and can't believe how solid it is now. I played around with making the bed longer but decided against it. Thanks for the input guys. I will have some more up soon....hopefully whenever I get some time. Edited January 3, 2010 by Zach M. Quote
sens1992 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Really cool truck. I really like the chain idea. Good Job. Quote
