AllanSmith Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Using parts from Racers 8121, 8122, 8162, City 7635, 7638, and the Space Police 5972 set I built a Horse truck today. There are side photos of two different front wheel positions. Not sure which is best. I have used 4 black cheese bricks each side as steps up into cab. Also no studs on top (SNOT). Alternate front wheel postion below. Let me know which one you like. Quote
Bricktrain Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Looks good Allan, I like the forward wheel position best myself. Seems to be a building boom in Allanton too then Quote
Ralph_S Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Nice MOC. The forward wheel position looks best by far. I love the use of cheese slopes to make the steps leading to the cab. Cheers, Ralph Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Dam it 'AllenSmith' you are good ! FANTASTIC MOC ! You have wasted nothing and I can not fault it ! Keep up the great work ! Quote
BlueBard Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Really nice! I especially like how you've done the front Quote
AllanSmith Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Thanks everyone for the great comments. I have made one slight change, have recessed the orange tiles into the loading ramp. Quote
Milan Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Another great truck! I like the version with front wheels more forward! Keep up the nice work! Quote
Legostein Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Hello! Again an impressive example that even a small complement of bricks is enough for a great creation. I also agree with all the others that the forward position of the fron wheels looks much better. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Rick Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I like that you try different designs for the front of your vehicles. The forward wheel position is indeed much better. Nice job. Quote
Kalahare Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hi Allan, this is great MOC, I like the front part, looks very powerfull . I have one remarks or suggestion, your type of door in cabine is not idea. they are too small and there is large flat area aroud front doors. This door type will be better: Orange Door 1 x 3 x 2 I vote for wheels closer to the front. Thank You Allan for this MOC, it is inspiration for me! Quote
mr. man Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 nice! i like the position with the wheels back myself. Quote
AllanSmith Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 I have one remarks or suggestion, your type of door in cabine is not idea. they are too small and there is large flat area aroud front doors. This door type will be better: Orange Door 1 x 3 x 2 Great idea but those doors are very rare, only came out in one set. Instead I have combined 2 smaller doors together from the tow truck set. I have also added mirrors but as i only had white clips I have put a white line around the cab roof. This goes well with the lower white stripe and raises the roof one plate which helps hide the gap of the front of rear white roof . I have also inserted the orange tiles into the rear ramp. Updated pictures below: Quote
Kalahare Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Yes, the doors 1x3x2 in orange are little bit unique. But your last modification is very good! Great truck. Quote
Milan Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Beautiful. Front part or the truck (hood) is excellent! Quote
AllanSmith Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Bricklink parts order arrived so I updated the tailgate. The whole truck is now studless Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Great looking tailgate, good one 'AllanSmith'. Quote
