AllanSmith Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Being Christmas Day there was not much to do. All my LEGO is in storage, but I had bought the following sets recently for spare parts. So to fill in the day I decided to build something from what I had on hand. Using parts from Racers 8121, 8122, 8162 and City 7638 I ended up with an Orange Rat Rod with blower. Tomorrow its off to the Boxing Day sales for more LEGO. Enjoy Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Well it wouldn't be street legal anywhere in the world that's for sure ! This is what Lego is for - crazy designs ! What you could do is smaller wheels in the front, also fix the driver or engine or whatever because he can't see whats in front of him ! I think it's a bit too low, one speed hump and he will be airborne ! Great little job you've done their 'Allensmith' ! Hope you are having a great Christmas ! Quote
Milan Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Ratrod! I don't like them, but you did very nice copy of real model (one of the real model) Instantly recognizable, totally low, totally unpractical, totally bad visibility...its great Maybe thiner tires would be better, but overall nice rod! Modulex Guy Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 You pulled the Ratrod look quite well! I love how you used the small wheels on the engine for blower pulleys! Quote
AllanSmith Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 Thanks for the suggestions. What you could do is smaller wheels in the front, also fix the driver or engine or whatever because he can't see whats in front of him ! The driver can see ahead. Its a six stud wide cab, he is sitting on the left and can look down the side of the blower. Maybe thiner tires would be better, but overall nice rod! I only have the 8121, 8122, 8162 and 7638 sets to get parts from. But I do have thousands of spare parts in the storage unit in the North Island. So one day I can update it. Quote
AllanSmith Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Had a ground up rebuild today. Enjoy Quote
AllanSmith Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Bricklink parts order arrived so I updated the blower intake. Quote
ImLost Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Allan, the new blower intakes looks SO MUCH better than the old one. I also like that you changed from double doors back to single doors. Good work. Quote
