Lordofdragonss Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 This series looks great. It just shouts: Lego own themes are better than licenced ones! Quote
sologuy369 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 These sets are now on the Austria site. Prices in Euro 8899# Gator Swamp 39.99 8864# Desert of Destruction 89.99 8896# snake canyon 9.99 Now only time for the USA... Quote
just2good Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Here the pics. Ooooo nice pics! Thanks legomilk! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 These sets are now on the Austria site. Prices in EuroNow only time for the USA... Which is what I love. Americas get a few sets a few weeks early and people on this site freak out. However no one notices that most of the sets are always released in Europe first and that Europe gets more sets than the Americas. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Nice Truck! I am so looking forward to this line. I have to get my MOCs done before it... Quote
prateek Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Cool truck. It looks like the Agents truck on steroids! Quote
ILikePi Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 More pictures of 8864 Desert of Destruction: One picture of 8899 Gator Swamp (I can't find the links to the other pics): And one of 8896 Snake Canyon: Looks like it's going to be a great theme! I especially like 8899 Gator Swamp. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 The hi-res pix of these sets so far look AWESOME - but sadly for me dollars and cents may not allow my to buy - any way that truck has been through 'Trick My Truck' by the looks of it ! The twin bike set - will sell like mad ! Can't wait to start seeing the reviews, so I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Thanks for the pictures! They look great! The green truck looks like the new City truck crossed with the Agents one, crossed with one of those Racers tracks. I think the only set I'll buy from this theme (even though I love all the minifigs) is the Snake Canyon one. Two minifigs, an updated version of that black flaming bike from the Service Station and a trophy? Yes please. Quote
just2good Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Two World Racers sets (and other summer 2010 sets!) are now available on Toys'R'Us.com!: 9897 Power Boats 8863 Ice Canyon Quote
prateek Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Two World Racers sets (and other summer 2010 sets!) are now available on Toys'R'Us.com!:9897 Power Boats 8863 Ice Canyon The green team's boat has a fish cannon! Quote
ZO6 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I can't say that I'm a fan of the massive amount of stickers, but those sets looks like a lot of fun. After closer inspection, 9897 Power Boats looks especially appealing. Lots of neat details and a reasonable price. Guess it's time to get out the Town Race theme from 2000 and do some reviews in anticipation. Quote
GRogall Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Oh myst, more HR pictures of two new sets! 8863 Blizzard's Peak 8897 Power Boats Enjoy!!! Quote
legomilk Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Beter pics from dutch webshop http://www.speelgoedwinkel.nl/winkel/index.php?cPath=67_244 Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Ditto on the boats. If only for the fish cannon. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 There were a couple of the sets available at the local TRU today. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) World Racers; Because Lego needs a theme to dump their stickers and lime pieces. The Theme looks good, but even with the new picks, I'm not feeling a spark. The bad guys look good, the good guys are rockin' the stickered lime look, although with more white and less orange than Power Rangers Miners. There are also a few cool pieces, such as the ice boulder. Still not enough to catch my interest. To me It looks like yellow Speed Racer with smaller sets. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 16, 2010 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Aanchir Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Well, obviously some people have gotten these sets delivered, as the minifigs are showing up on Bricklink. I love this one guy: "Son... I am disappoint" The cartooniness of all the figs is great, but that one just stuck out for its uncanny resemblance to a popular meme. What's next, an awesomeface fig? Quote
Zechariah Legio Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Why are there only two teams? Seems kind of cheap to me. The pieces look cool, but there's only around two color combinations. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 More teams would make it more expensive. Two teams is enough for a race and a story. You can use your imagination and make more, that is what I am doing while I wait Quote

Maybe different racers, but there are only two teams the X-treme Daredevils and the Backyard Blasters. Quote

They race in the canyon, in the swamp, in the arctic etc. If each set had different teams there would not be a cohesive story to tell. If there were more teams the sets would have to be bigger and thus cost more. Maybe if it is a two year theme there will be different or more teams. Quote
Zechariah Legio Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Yeah, like a team with yellow and violet colors that shot fruit from their cars. Quote
