World Racers Summer 2010

It was the blue shark guy and the green rhino girl. The decals on the read hovercraft are amazing. Lego Shark decals, perfect for WW2 fighter planes.

I think the best thing about this line may be the new minifigs. I can see lots of new torsos, and nice parts like green Power Miners helmets, and my personal favourite, the flaming skull helmet and flaming torso. The trophy is probably a new piece, too.

Has anyone noticed there's a new trophy (hopefully not a sticker on the same piece!) for every environment/set?

I do like the vehicles themselves, though. I'll most likely get all of them except for the largest set, if I can afford them all.

That's the only decent thing I see about them, the look horribly designed, like a little kid threw some pieces together. However new torsos are great because I'm a City fan and we never get anything new.

I have to say I am not impressed. This should not replace Agents. The vehilces do not look very well designed. Its like Hot Wheels meets lego. They are probably going for the 5-11 year old boy demographic. As others have said, there are a few interesting torsos but other than that, not much. These are all a non-purchase for me.

This theme looks like a mixed bag. There are some sets that look pretty good (like the racecars one) and some that look like they have the potential to be horrible (the ice one, fr'instance, with the thornax launchers). If it were sort of an empty year for LEGO, I might buy some of the smaller sets, but seeing these on a store shelf between new Atlantis and Kingdoms, I'm not gonna purchase any of them.

That is all LEGO ever goes after in wide release sets / themes. At least with Agents they looked decent.

Eh, the minifigs are all right but the vehicles might be a pass. I'll wait til I see better images to decide if I'll buy or not, but the colors on some of those vehicles are majorly clashing.

I think all I can say right now is MEH, It's a good idea but I don't think TLC has executed it quite well.

The only set I may buy, if any, is the motorcycle one, for the motorcycles and the characters only.

Swamp Race

It seems a little recycled to me. The idea was interesting, but the execution is, like sok said, MEH.

The theme is supposed to retail in June, at least in Germany.

(or variations) plummeting down hills, rushing across the playground or simply to call dibs on a swing or end of the seesaw. Your toy cars rocketed down ramps made from books, trays and large lego boxes. You made racing things out of lego that swooshed and vroomed around the house (even though Lego stays in your bedroom) shedding pilots and parts as they went.

This is what World Race will evoke. In small kids and in us big kids. Heck, I am already fiddling around with some parts to make themed finish lines!

This has everything I want: Printed Helmets, Unique Characters and Team Colours

In a way thats what happened to my lego race car (you know the one with the chrome elements?) parts went flying!

I guess im the only one who likes this, because i think this theme is great!

This pretty much sums up I feel about this theme. I used to love Lego Racers during the Drome subtheme for the same reason.

I love the Drom racers, I go to the 4D show in Legoland every year Also I adored Acceleracers (the Hotwheels TV series). I don't know why, but stupid over the top racing has enamoured me since Wacky Races

I do like this theme, though there seems to be a massive number of stickers involved, and I never apply those. The colour scheme is nice. With Power Miners likely coming to an end and me not being interested in Atlantis, this may be the line that I take up instead.

I'd imagine that the trophies are fully unique per set, like Atlantis' rings. It enhances collectability. Did anybody actually bother with Agents' stars?

Interesting copter with the ice racing set, looks to be a cross between earlier coast guard and fire copters from the city range years ago.

The monster racers look awesome !

But I must say one thing - with so many themes going to running at the same time - will this theme survive against SW, HP, TS, Kingdoms, City, City Trains, the list goes on !

Can't you just link to the pics instead of inserting them? It's annoying to have to scroll way down to get past them.

Anyway, I like the use of the grappling hook pieces as spikes. Also that flick-fire grappling hook is cool and I want one.
