lightningtiger Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 In New Mannum the ever expanding road rescue fleet just keeps growing. Tow truck (un-MODed) Breakdown/Tyre Repair Truck (MODed) Hyrdaulic Repair Truck (MODed) You have seen the tyre truck before so here's the hydraulic repair truck. Tools and parts storage. Steps so the mechanic can operate the crimper and saw. All three trucks come from the same truck body builders. They are also W.I.P.'s I might make some changes along the way. Quote
Rick Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I especially like the 'middle' one (for which you don't have detail shots). The cabinets on the back look pretty good. Quote

Hi 'Rick' that vehicle you speak of is one the first MOC/MODs I posted here on EB back in early November.my breakdown truck Anyway folks they are like I said W.I.P. - not finished yet even the breakdown truck might have some adjustments made to it. Thanks 'Rick' for your comment. Quote
jamtf Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 How about making a hauler for stranded cars? The tow truck chassis is big enough for that. For inspiration look at the classic ANWB Breakdown Assistance promotional sets 1590 + 2140 for an idea of what I mean. Quote

I know of the sets in question and one has been on the drawing board, either a tilt flat bed with winch or a trailier with winch - what do you all think - truck or trailier ? Quote

A tilt flat bed with winch would be nice. Perhaps you need some technic parts to make that. Quote
Big Cam Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Nice mod's, I like the truck with the bed, very versitile. I wonder why LEGO hasn't made one. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 Thanks for your comments 'Big Cam' - I guess the only thing close to a flat bed will be 3179 repair truck. I have a chassis built, only have tilt loader with winch that's todays project - hope to have done in the next 12 hours. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 Well the fleet has grown to four trucks and a bike now - YES a bike. Yep, a guy on a motorcycle with a big hammer and giant screwdriver/spanner combo tool - must work on trucks and heavy farm/construction in the field - he does ! (by the looks of him - not make him mad with those tools so handy to him) and here's the rest in the above photo (didn't worry about the tow truck - it hasn't been MODed). These vehicles all now look like they came from the same vehicle marker and that's what I was aimming for. Comments welcome, oh by the way another post you can the see how the flatbed changed and changed. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2009 Author Posted December 30, 2009 I was bored and I thought my roadside repair guys need a better vehicle so I both the best of two together - heres the result. Comment very welcome, I would like to know if this is a better design, thanks. Quote
5150 Lego Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I like your last truck the best! Lots of storage compartments and tools! Very uniformed fleet. Now you just need a garage to house your fleet! Quote
Kalahare Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) Hello, I agree with "5150 Lego", the last truck is the best! Lot of boxes and equipment, can be also use as a service truck for trams, airplanes or something like that. Well done! Now I must build large service station and garages for your "orange angels team" Edited January 1, 2010 by Kalahare Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Thank you 'Kalahare' and '5150 Lego' for your kind words for my ugly duckling. This was my first MOD/MOC vehicle I posted on Eurobricks and has under gone major changes in to a true MOC. I will posting the final fit out and trim for this vehicle/tyre/hydraulic repair truck (what a mouthful eh ?). Also I will posting a WIP of New Mannum's new fire truck. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 I'm back with the final picture of one vehicle (still going on the others). I put mirrors on and a bit more colour breakup of the orange at the front. Hey comments are still very welcome. Quote
Milan Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Very nice truck. Front is extremely good and curved. I do not know about mirrors, it is better with them, but they look a little bit bigger to me...But I like the truck more with mirrors! Quote
