Hi everyone, I need some professional opinions.

I collect mainly Star Wars, but display space is becoming an issue.

So I decided to disassemble some sets to get some space for other sets.

The thing is; some of my sets are, in my opinion, outright ugly. Some 'ugly' sets include the Hyena Droid Bomber and the Pirate Tank.

What's your opinion? Please fill in the poll above and let me know, so I can decide which sets to take apart.

Here are the pros of taking some sets apart:

  • More display space
  • More parts
  • I don't have to see the ugliness of some sets. (I hate to say they're ugly, but I can;t find a better word)

Cons:

  • I don't have the set at hand in case I need to check something. (As in; "Does the Hyena Droid Bomber include a 2x2 slope, inverted, or is it a 2x3 slope inverted?")

The pros outweigh the cons, but which ones should I take apart?

Please also share your own experiences or dilemmas.

I voted for the Hyena Droid Bomber and Magna Guard Starfighter. I find the ships pretty ugly and the minifigs dont really help the set either. They are medium sized sets so they would free up a bit of space for more.

Oh $|-|1+! I voted for sets you should keep. Any way, you should keep the Echo Base, TIE Advanced, and Shanghai Chase. You should take apart Hyena Bomber and Pirate Tank and Midi Falcon. These sets have good parts, but they look wierd.

If you think they're ugly but good for parts, why do you hesitate taking them apart? If you want to know afterwards what pieces the sets included, you can always hop over to bricklink to find out or check the back of the instructions. So yeah, I'd say take apart the Bomber and Pirate Tank. Those two sets are only good for parts IMO. And while you're at it, you can take apart the Landspeeder too if you're planing to get the new one next year. If space is still scarce, I guess you could take apart the Magna fighter and Tie Advanced too since they are kind of uninteresting sets. Mini AT-AT and Jedi duel don't take up a lot of space; Echo Base will be useful for displaying the 2010 Hoth BPs; AAT, N-1, and Shanghai Case are awesome sets that don't deserve cannibalizing; and Midi MF's only purpose is to be displayed. That's how I see it anyway.

I like the look of the Pirate Tank! I haven't got it, but it's definitely on my list.

I voted:

the hyena droid - I like it, but all the blue/grey ships bore me a bit.

magna guard fighter - an interesting ship, but takes up a lot of space... I don't keep many very flat ships built.

AAT - More blue/grey. For some reason, a really boring set for me.

Things like Shanghai Chase and Echo Base never need to get taken apart. They are compact and fun little sets.
