ZO6 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows if official LEGO stores in the United States will ship to Canada or not? I'm trying to acquire a Winter Toy Shop and wanted to avoid Ebay or Bricklink if possible. Thanks
Big Cam Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 What do you mean by official LEGO stores? Are you talking about Shop@home, or somethign Like Target, or Toys R US?
ZO6 Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 One of the retail outlets, such as the Imagination Center in Orlando Florida (though I'd be interested in one of the locations closer to Ontario, Canada). Ex. LEGO Store site I know they have a phone number, I was just hoping someone might know off hand if they would ship to Canada or not, as it would save an expensive phone call across the border. Thanks

Stash2Sixx Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Nope. Due to customs, LEGO Brand Retail stores in the US can only ship to US Postal addresses. Unless you know someone statesaide that can help out,Bricklink and EBAY may be your last few options this year.
ZO6 Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Alright, thank you for the heads up. I guess I'll go with ebay before the prices get to be too much more ridiculous.
Ricecracker Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Hey ZO6. There is a Lego only store in Waterloo called Toy Building Zone. I talked to them last month, and they said they might be getting it in, but don't know. Why don't you try calling them?
AFOL SF Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Alright, thank you for the heads up. I guess I'll go with ebay before the prices get to be too much more ridiculous. As I mentioned earlier, I passed by the Lego store at Hillsdale Mall this evening and found out that the store have at least 50-70 Winter Toy Shop sets. I also asked one of the sales rep about shipping to Canada, but she was not sure about that. She was asking me for the zipcode which I don't have so she suggested giving the store a call. Here is the store's telephone # - (650) 571-9020 - do give them a call before you made that bid on eBay. I hope this helps. I talked to them last month, and they said they might be getting it in, but don't know. Why don't you try calling them? They were one of the places I phoned yesterday (along with half a dozen others in southern Ontario), but unfortunately all they had to say was "Stores don't carry the set, and S@H is sold out". On the plus side, though Bricks & Blocks closed down in both Waterloo and Cookstown a while back, at least they managed to merge their resources and form this new Toy Building Zone store As I mentioned earlier, I passed by the Lego store at Hillsdale Mall this evening and found out that the store have at least 50-70 Winter Toy Shop sets. MShiels Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Well Bricks and Blocks is actually gone, the Toy Building Zone is run by the mall itself/has no relationship as far as I know with 'Toy Boys Inc' which ran the Bricks & Blocks outlets. BUT I will say you can come visit us in Mississauga and we have 3-4 toy stores left right now, and another batch comin on Wed 9th. As far as I know the only place in Canada to get any righ tnow. Once shop@home sold out, I figured I'd get as many in as I could since canadians have no other option really. Given the problem of sourcing these in bulk/driving to USA, they are priced at 89.95, but hopefully way less than going to eBay I hope!!
BlueDragonZ Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I also wished lego stores ships to Canada. I remeber when lego shop used to have USD pricing for all their lego sets. But that was when the currency was like $1 USD = $1.50 CAD and not like today when the currencies are almost equal. I got the winter toy shop the first day it came out of shop @ Home. Its a really good set. I wished you guys were in BC as some of the stuff you have on bricklink are pretty good but a bit expensive though.
