TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Hello I've been looking quite a while for a sertain type of brick, the 2x4 purple brick. I've tried bricklink, ebay etc, but these sites only sell this brick for insanely high prices (0.88 $ per brick isn't very smart if you need 269 of them..) This thread isn't to sell, buy or trade these bricks but it's to ask you guys if there are several other ways to get this brick (certain lego store, ....com, etc..), that's why i didn't post it in the buy, trade, sell section (and i can't post there yet.. arghh!..). It's funny that i can actually get 3 2x4 purple plates cheaper and just stack them ontop of each other, but people don't have 807 purple plates for sale unfortunatly . Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Well 0,88$ is expensive, if it's a must i say take 'm! On the other hand you could send the seller(s) an email and make them an offer for a certain amount of them. Good luck! Quote

Good luck! Well, even if i would buy all bricks from that buyer, i would only have 137 bricks, while i need 269 . 137 x 0.88 = 120.56 $ O_O and that's not even the full amount While if the lego company (in theory) would sell them they would be: 269 x 0.17 = 45.73 euro's The max price i'm willing to pay is 0.25 $ per brick. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply . Edited November 28, 2009 by TheAllSeeyingGuy Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Sorry for the double post but does anyone have another suggestion ? Quote
Big Cam Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I hope this doesn't come out sounding rude, but maybe you should use a different color or cancel the project. It appears you have drained the available resources. Unless shop@home has that piece. If they do, it will likely be more expensive that bricklink, but at least you could get whatever quantity you want. Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Cancel is no option, i already ordered 106 euros worth of lego for the first part of it . I can use a diffrent colour if i will be completly unable to find another colour.., like dark pink or something. But for now i'll keep searching a little more. I do have all other purple parts (so far about 320 parts). Quote
Big Cam Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Lego Shop @Home pick a Brick has 2x2 purple bricks for .15 cents US. 269*2=538*.15= $80.70 Seems like the best bet. Quote
Grimmy Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I think I know what you mean. I wanted to get more pink, purple, magenta bricks for my 6 year old niece who loves those colors and wanted to add them to her 405pc pink brick box. I've looked everywhere and noted the prices. Some of the pieces can be much higher then average pieces but I understand why. These pieces are more rare. They usually only come in the pink brick box or Bellville sets and the Bellville sets don't usually come with a lot of pieces or as much as other sets because they have a lot of big already built sections in the box. The best that I've seen as a way to get them is by searching ebay for the color names and you can find people selling lots of those colors only. Or like some recommended, contact someone at brick link for a deal on a bulk order. Look at it this way, if you ever want to sell them and get your money back you can since Lego seems to hold value. TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 I actually don't know why they stopt producing purple bricks, it's a main colour. It really suits lego. Quote
Captain M Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) I actually don't know why they stopt producing purple bricks, it's a main colour. It really suits lego. They didn't stop producing purple bricks. Otherwise, they wouldn't be at Lego Pick a Brick, would they? Also, the main and original Colors for Lego are(or were, at least at one point in the company's history)- Red Yellow Blue Black White Light Gray Edited December 2, 2009 by Captain M Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I actually meant that purple should be a main colour. They did stop producing ''normal'' purple bricks, they only sell the bright purple (but bricklink says dark pink) bricks, and they don't even sell the 2x4 brick of it . Quote
