lightningtiger Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Well here I am again with another MOC and this time it's a truck. A tilting flat bed for the shire's maintance department. Rear view loaded with a digger. Unloading or loading the digger. Unloaded digger. Side rear view unloaded. Front view of the cab. Comments welcome. Quote
PUCI Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 It is interesting how you construct the front of the vechile nice job Quote
Milan Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Excavators of that size (compared to the truck) are usually towed on a trailer behind the truck! their weight is usually great, and most trucks aren't allowed to carry them. If you want to keep this setup, I would recommended to install additional back axle(s) onto the truck! It looks good, tough! Quote
MetroiD Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Excavators of that size (compared to the truck) are usually towed on a trailer behind the truck!their weight is usually great, and most trucks aren't allowed to carry them. And even if they were allowed, they'd tip the truck over the instant they started "climbing" onto it... Of course, after they'd broken its "tipping" mechanism. Listen to our excavation expert tiger, and go with a separate flatbed trailer :] Nice idea though, would love to see it completed :] Quote
Zorbas Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Very nice work lightningtiger! The front of the truck is very very nice! It is not the usual vertical mask that TLG uses in most of the trucks of this kind and that it good! This could be an official model with the addition of some minor details. And even if they were allowed, they'd tip the truck over the instant they started "climbing" onto it... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 28, 2009 Author Posted November 28, 2009 Thanks for the feedback folks ! I'm actually working on a trailier (WIP), but a would have to modify this one to tow it. My ute would not be powerful enough and have the torque to pull it in real life. Oh by the way I've seen these diggers on the back of tipper trucks and even flat bed trucks , though now truthly I was planning to put this on a trailier anyway. The truck is multipurpose, it's also meant to carry supplies of bricks, light poles and piping to construction or repair sites. Will post new pictures when I'm done MODing my MOC. STOP PRESS - OMG - I can make this a tipper, just scanned over my photos again and it's easy to do too ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Okay I've done what I said and here it is. Front view. Front/Side view. Rear view. Driver operating tipper tray control lever, happy to give a demo of how good it works. Comments welcome. Quote
