I'm going to be in Tallinn and Helsinki for work next week. Are Lego prices interesting there compared to average EU retail prices? If so, where should I go?

Slightly off-topic: are netbooks and PSP's worth buying in either town?

In Tallinn prices of Lego are way up higher than in Finland. Finnish prices compare quite well at least prices in Amsterdam and Barcelona few weeks ago. Nothing special sets (ok, some limited edition Power Miners or Star Wars or Wind Turbine Transport you can find from very few shops, but I don't know how widely they are available in other countries), occasionally you might find some clearance sets (mainly from Anttila, Citymarket, Prisma, Sokos). The biggest selection of sets should be at Stockmann.

Now, under Christmas there might be several "buy 4 toys, get the cheapest one for free"-offers at Anttila, Citymarket or Prisma, if 25% or less is good offer for you.

If you have Finn (with a Plussa-bonus-card) with you, Anttila-chain has these coupons when you get 20€ off of your 100€ purchase. Those coupons are valid until 5.12. and you should get those easily from the catalogues in the shops. But you'll need the bonus card to get the offer.

Those "4 for the price of 3"-offers might also be limited to customer-loyality-card-people only, but not always.

If I remember, I can update some next week offers here if available.

Thanks! I'm quite surprised actually. Tallinn even more expensive than Helsinki? Wow... I was hoping Tallinn would be cheaper. On Shop at Home Finland is the only country that's more expensive than Ireland so that doesn't sound good...

Everything else should be cheaper in Tallinn, but brand toys and many dvd's and games are a little bit higher, at least Lego sets. :(

Finally some great offers in Finland, too. Citymarket is making a clearance on their Christmas gift articles. All their Christmas offer sets should be 40% off, if there's anything left.

For example:

6754 Family Home <39€

7633 Construction Site <60€

7642 Garage <54€

Thanks for the tip Jvvv! Picked up the 8265 Frontend Loader for <54€ along with the store's last 6754 for the local SFOL. There were also several 8258 Crane Trucks for <109€, but as I'd already grabbed that one from their Christmas offer for <149€, I didn't go for another one. (I know I'll be kicking myself for not getting several of it and the 8265 in a couple of years, but...)

At least in one store in Helsinki (Malmi), the Citymarket post-christmas clearance sale has dropped prices even more, for example:

8258 Crane Truck 85€ (got last one from there, others might still have some)

8265 Front Loader 40€ (got two, still plenty left)

7633 Construction Site 50€ (several)

That's about 55% off MSRP, got get some!
