I'm kind of surprised that they don't have a bluecoat to grab the Pirate folk in the way they've thrown a bone to City, Space, Castle, Ninja and even Western fans.

There'll be a second batch of figs. There is bound to be a pirate related fig in it, and I'm betting it'll be a bluecoat.

Wonderful. Surprising. Amazing.

Did I say surprising?? I am sorry for my rants in the past about the boring (yellow) minifigs. Forgive me, TLC! These are the sweetest non-Indy minifigs I have ever seen. Hands down. Looking forward to get these. Hopefully they have all the same rarity, not like magic cards or these japanese Kubrick etc thingies.

THANKS, TLC!

PS About the idea, that only parts but not complete minifigs come in a bag = come on, that would be evil. And bad. TLC would never do that.

PSPS I hope these are not too rare and I can get my hands on these. I hope so a lot!

1 complete minifigure pr. bag.

It is not the usual bag, it is a very thick and small, and it's impossible to tell which figure is in it before opening.

Thanks for clarifying that, Front!

Sweet! I'm glad they're not just random pieces.

Hooray for complete minifigs per bag. Boohoo for no feeling bags  Ah well, saves me the embarrassment of going to the store and trying to feel what fig is inside.

May I ask where you got the info? Or have you even seen the bags?

Do you know anything about the geographical and physical distribution (to what countries and how cases are made up)?

How shall we buy them? Supermarket, local shop or highstreet store? Lego Branded Stores Only (if so I shall protest most loudly).

Ah, who's to worry, we'll be able to set up a giant swapsie topic and have a whale of a time

Anticipation is too great!

He means you get the whole fig: Head - Hat - Body - Legs - Tool, but these will still be random....

Sounds like a neat idea like the old BIONICLES. I like 13 the best.

If this is really true, it will be hideously expensive to get the whole collection on your own without trading. But then again: I guess it's the idea that you'll start trading with friends (fellow AFOLs on EB  ). Any statistician who feels like calculating how many bags you need to buy to be 99% sure that you'll get them all if head body and legs are randomly distributed across packs? :hmpf: Or would they simply have 16 different bags with body parts, so that you'll always get a clowns head together with a robot body and a diver's feet? All this speculation... guess we'll just have to wait... and I hate waiting...

Absolutely great and beautiful minifigs!

Although that the price seems a bit raised, I 'm more that sure that I'll end up with many many of them!

The forestman really reminds me the older "Robin Hood" movies and the actors that were playing the Robin Hood character.

Ah well, saves me the embarrassment of going to the store and trying to feel what fig is inside.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

"Can I help you sir?"

"Eeehm, I 'm looking to buy something for my nephew." (yeah right... :hmpf: )

"Glad to help you sir, but why do you keep touching these polybags in a weird way?"

I can picture myself trying to act in a cool, like-nothing-happens way.

From a Marketing perspective, the opaque polybag makes sense; You buy more if you don't know what you are getting. I can tell based on the replies to this forum that certain minifigs would be hoarded and hard to get if they were in distinct, obvious, packaging. I can foresee a lot of wrinkled and damaged packaging from all the "package rubbing" if the figures don't come in solid boxes. I still see a problem with the Bricklink Whales buying up all the minifigs if they are limited to Brand Stores and the online Shop at Home. Hopefully Target and TRU will get these figs as well.

I'm still unclear on this point. It sounds like there will definitely be a complete mini-fig in each bag, in the sense that there will be one set of legs, one torso, one head, etc.

However, what I'm NOT clear on is if those pieces will all be from the same character. Will a bag contain, for example, all the pieces needed to build a clown (the clown legs, the clown torso, the clown head, etc.)?

Or, will a bag contain one random set of legs, one random torso, one random head, etc.?

I really hope that Lego will go with the former, and not the latter. Getting all the pieces needed to build a complete character in the same bag will make this a really fun thing to purchase and collect. Having to buy dozens of bags in the hopes of someday being able to assemble a complete clown, cheerleader, etc. will be expensive and aggravating.

If there's anybody out there who can definitely clear this up, that would be much appreciated!

The minifigs are very nice and I like this idea very much.

But I don't like the idea you can't see what you get and the idea it is maybe different pieces from different minifigs.

You want some cavemen and you only get divers and nin'ja's, then you must find someone with cavemen who want divers or ninja's. And maybe the only one with cavemen want cheerleaders and zombies (a very good combination for a oh-no,-not-another-american-teenage-highschool-horror-movie  ). So, It makes it rather difficult to get the figs you want. I know there are communities like this where you can trade, But I like it when I just can get the lego I want in a shop in my neighbourhood.

Also the idea it already disappears after 2 months is very fast. If they just put all figs in one box for 2,5x14= 35 euro would it also make expensive, but you get one of each at least. Now It could be much more than 35 euro. :cry_sad:

I will look what will come of this. :yoda:

Impossible by looking at it, weighing it, or feeling it? Because then that would have to be a box.

Hopefully these will actually be in the Toy Isle(s) of stores, not behind the counter. That would stink if we had to buy them before feeling them.

Um.. He works for Lego.

I think all of those figures are great indications of possible new themes. If Lego is taking the time to develop these, some of them may be put to use later.

If it's just random, and assuming that the figures only have the parts shown (but we still get 5 parts per bag - head, torso, legs, hair/hat and accessory), there is a 1 in 442368 chance of getting the complete fig (all 5 parts) you want in one bag. That's just assuming ones that have 5 parts, obviously it changes for ones like the zombie (3 parts only needed, so only 1 in 4096 for him). Now, I'm afraid I don't know exactly how to do the whole 99% confidence level calculations, which is annoying, given I'm fairly sure I learnt them in 1st year of my degree. Baysian statistics can tell you some things, but not everything, which is what we've covered this year (the joys of final year physics degrees).

Either way, that should give you some idea of the numbers we're looking at having to get to get a complete collection, without swapping. Not cheap. If they do come properly packed, all the same, it will be slightly easier. But equally might get more frustrating as you can't tell what you're getting, so you end up with 20 zombie cheerleaders with a syringe and caveman hair.

Thank you very much for this information, Front! :classic:

The only thing I don't like is that it might be that you buy many bags but do not get one complete minifig - or even many minifigs - of the sort you want to have. And with whom should we AFOLs exchange the minifig parts?! Of course we could do this via EB - but imagine only the shipping costs. :sadnew:

Perhaps we've got much luck and there will be some Ebay or BL salesmen or saleswoman which buy many bags and then sell the complete minifig(s) so you can get the minifig you want to have.
