Izzy Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I saw this video clip come on the tv when I was at the gym this morning, I jumped off the treadmill and ran to the front desk grabbed a pen and frantically started to write on my hand. They guy at the counter said 'Are you okay?' I said, 'Yeah, I just don't want to forget the band name, there is Lego in the video clip.' and smiled at him. You should have seen his face, Haha! Here is the link, Owl City - Fireflies i The floor of his room is scattered with Lego and some imitation brands of bricks. All the other toys are awesome too. Enjoy! Quote
Oky Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Neat find. This would go nicely into your index. Nice song too. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Good find but I can barely stand the painful sounds he creates long enough to wait to see the LEGO's edit: after finishing the video, all those toys are really retro and cool, but I still don't like that song. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Thanks for pointing out! I really like this song, they should put Tamagothi and furby in too! Quote

No way. You are officially the first person I've ever heard say they don't like Owl City. Ever since I heard his EP "Of June" in 2007, it has been bar none my favourite music--nothing else comes close IMO. I always thought it was so universal. Everyone I show it to falls in love with it completely; who doesn't like easy listening? His albums get better and better, and it's so nice to see him blow up like he has. It's still surreal seeing him on TV and hearing him on the radio. 2 years ago he was some kid alone in his basement making music on his computer. 2 months ago he was the #1 downloaded on iTunes. I'm so happy for Adam, and hope that this motivates him to keep going and improve, rather than sell out like the rest. I truly don't think any music will ever outdo his in my mind, but this is coming from someone who in general can't stand music. I strongly recommend his stuff; it will make you smile, and you won't get tired of it. Edited November 20, 2009 by Maegnus Quote
prateek Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I was gonna post this but I was too lazy. I see you have fulfilled my task. Thank you Quote
The Who Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I wish I had a Zeppelin in my closet. Anyway, that is neat. I wouldn't call the song bad, but personally I wouldn't call it great either. It's kind of soothing, a little too much for my taste. Quote

His voice is quite annoying to me, it's got a screeching sound too it. Just because everyone you have talked to likes it, doesn't mean that is the sum total of everyone. It's a totally random sampling of the human population. Everyone has their likes and dislikes, I just happen to not really care for this guy. I'm sure lots agree with me and lots will disagree. LEGO's are still in the video and that's cool, plus his interest in old toys is also worth noting. I bet he'd make a good friend. Quote
Commander Flash Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Not quite a fan of the band or song, but including Lego in any form of media (positively) is good in my book Quote
Alice Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I actually quite like the song and video. I showed it to Stash a while back and he didn't seem to be a big fan of the music. It is a very neat video. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 The music is my sort of sound, the lyrics and vocals? My sister (maybe, she might be in a new music phase..) and my mother would like. I was quite disappointed at the lack of Zoids. All those Retro toys and not one Zoic Android... Quote

While i can appreciate your views on his music, your feeling and opinion do not represent the general populations feeling on him. While you may think he's the greatest thing since slice bread, several people have pointed out they don't care for his style of music. There are plenty of other styles that supersede his, and while you might think no one will ever get tired of him;... Sorry, but after hearing his song several times throughout the day, it gets old real quick. As far as the video, i don't see the big deal. Just some Lego's on the floor. Big deal. Quote
