harrysnapperorgans Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) This is an accomplishment for me - my first substantial MOC post-dark ages. I wanted to do something with a very Kiwi feel, so this it. Most New Zealanders have memories of beach side holidays at places like this one, full of sun, surf, beach cricket, endless barbeques and going to sleep listening to the surf just outside. This is built somewhere in between Modular and Classic scale. Like Classic, it has no back, and like Modular, it is quite tall and detailed and has a furnished interior. Someday, if time and money allow, I would like to build a hinged back on this. Comments and suggestions are welcomed! Full MOC shot: Mr (Harry Snapper) Organs and Organs Junior play beach cricket. Mrs Organs, in her trendy french beret, bring them refreshments: Another shot of the facade: Inside the house, Mr (Harry Snapper) Organs is in the kitchen whipping up dinner, while Mrs Organs enjoys the peace and tranquility: No more tranquility, Junior wants his food! Upstairs, two bedrooms, one for Mr. & Mrs. Organs: And a tiny one for Junior: Last shot of the house with roof off: Thanks for reading, and enjoy. BlueBard Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Really nice, specially for sime kind of first post-dark-ages MOC Love the Kiwi/holidays feeling and as you say, the mixture of classic and modular style Quote
MetroiD Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Now THIS is a true combination of Classic Town and Modular Style! Well done - I think this MOC comes closest to combining as many elements as possible of those two and the end result is simply fantastic :) Keep building mate! Quote
peterab Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 This is a sweet Moc. It really captures the holiday house feel. I can feel the sand on the floor already. Quote
Ras 74 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 That looks like a house I could live in! I agree to Otters of it looking like a combination of a mix between Classic Town and Modular Style. Really like how you did the water. Always looks for how people do that part in particular in mocs. Quote
Anders Nolberger Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I like this very much. The waterline is very good and it all looks butiful. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Great MOC beach house. I like the kitchen and the small beach front is simple yet beautiful. Ah, those's lazy summer days ! Quote
Milan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 House is great! I like the water very much. Interior is very well made, too. Outside is more detailed, but overall it is a very nice creation! Quote
Big Cam Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I like it alot, you did a great job of combining the two styles. I'm not from New Zealand but memories like that sure sound nice. I especially like your beachfront area, it's just tastefully done and looks real. Quote
