rjbouw Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, I'm new here. i'm from the netherlands, and 34 years old. Last week i got a box full of lego from the attic of my parents, so that my children can play with it. Browsing through the stuff i got a wave of nostalgia when i saw two minifigs that i modded when i was 8 or so. It was a fig of the tv series "V" that was aired a long long time ago ;) And of course a fig modded to a spiderman fig, my alltime favourite superhero ;) So, i decided to give it another shot, and my first victim is the swedish chef from the muppet show. I googled and saw that it was already done a couple of times, but well... Anyway i'm on to the decals right now, and of course still WIP... I use Adobe Illustrator by the way. simonjedi Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Looks great so far, will you be doing other muppets? Also big + points for the Courage avatar. Quote
NewRight Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Hey rjbouw your decal looks sweet so far. I also suggest you meet a few new people in the Greeting Forum. Again fantastic work. Quote
Hound Knight Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Wow, it looks great so far! A BrickForge cleaver would go nicely with him in my opinion. (Pic=Link) Quote
rjbouw Posted November 15, 2009 Author Posted November 15, 2009 Thanks all! @Hound Knight: that cleaver is a good idea, i'm thinking of making one from styrene plastic. Also i'm thinking of modding the vest from the construction worker below, to a apron (if that's the correct word) @simonjedi: maybe i will, let's see how this one turns out first! Courage the cowardly dog was a genius series in my opinion! Quote
rjbouw Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 Prototyping away... ;) The skirt is done in styreen. I also found out that my printer isn't all that when it comes to printing small things, bummer I tried painting the torso with enamel paint, but it wouldn't stick, although i did sand... think i have to prime first. Big Cam Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Nice, I love the Muppets, he was one of the funnier characters, looks like oyur on your way to making a good LEGO version. Quote
Hound Knight Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Lookin' good! What kind of paint are you planning to use? I'd recommend Testors/Model Master Enamel paint if you can find it. Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Looking Great rjbouw That Apron Looks Great! As Hound Knight meantioned a cleaver would look Great with him! Your Decals are looking good! Well done and looking forward to seeing the finished product! CommanderFox Quote
