Burf2000 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I read somewhere that the RCX 1.0 can control PF functions (RCX 2 uses a different frequency). If this is true then why cant the serial tower control power functions? Anyone? Quote
Jetro Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Who sais it can't? Nobody has tried as far as I know ... or succeeded. Quote
Burf2000 Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Maybe we should try it? how cool would that be! Quote
Dryw Filtiarn Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 In theory this would be possible, though it would require some custom software to be written to control the IR tower. Technically it wouldn't even matter that much if you would be using the old tower or the newer USB tower. The only catch between the different towers will be that the range for the USB tower is shorter then with the old tower. I must say that I see a challenge in this and I might attempt to build some software to see if it would be feasible. If so it would be possible to have autonomous control of the PF straight from a PC. It is ofcourse also possible to control PF by use of the RCX (with a bit of code that was published on lugnet somewhere) or through the NXT with the custom IR transmitter/receiver module from hi-technic.
