A few ago weeks I was asked to make the building from the Johnny Depp movie Sweeney Todd. I had never seen the movie so I borrowed it for the weekend so I could see what the building looked like. If you haven't seen the movie you may not get it. Here is my take on it.

Most of the movie is almost black and white, there is no real colors other than greys and blacks. I had to use a plate and a half to fit the rear area of the building.

I used a lot of the new black 3 and 2 stud windows.

I wanted the rear of the building to have good detail too.

The roof can lift open for play too. I installed 2 red light bricks on the back wall. They light up when you close the roof down. It will stay open if you lift the roof a little so you won't kill the batteries.

I don't normally do a lot of interior detailing but this is going to a child (I know what you're thinking!) so I wanted it be as playable as possible.

There is a trapdoor behind the barbers chair. Notice the Technic lever at the front of the building.

Push the lever to the right and it flips the chair back after Todd slices the customers throat.

And this is where Mrs. lovett makes her "meat" pies.

Overall I think it came out pretty well. (I had a 2 week deadline on it and that included ordering in the windows and some other stuff.)I'm not used to trying to re-create something "real".

Hope you like it comments and criticism always welcome!!

I much prefer the Broadway version (Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett = EPIC WIN), but you've captured the building pretty well. I would like to see a version of the setpiece from the play too, which looks considerably different and has even more crazy features. Very good job on the chair, there.

Wonderful MOC, I love it. The shop front, very late 1800's, very nice. The trap door, again very nice and the pie shop, a real evil witches den, great ! And that spare hand sticking out of a box, must be for supper.

It makes you want to say - Shave & a haircut, be your last ........!

Or 'that was a close shave !'

WoW this is impressive! :cry_happy: I love sweeny todd and besides sir nadorj your the only one to have made anything to with good ol'e Sweeny. YOu did a great job with everything including the outside. The only thing I would suggest would be to tile the interor. I figured you would'nt since your givinig it to a kid so it does'nt really matter. Do you have pics of figs? God I wish I was that kid  . Anyways brilliant job!

I havent seen the movie so I have no idea what it's suppose to look like but I think you made a grea building. The cjair going into the floor is brilliant, it's so flawless and you wouldn't know it did that unless you showed us

The tiling outside is great, and I really like the angle that the roof has. I think I need to go and watch this movie now so I cna see what this MOC is all about.

Great work.

Thanks for everyone's comment! I appreciate the feedback.

Where did you get the 1 x 2 x 3 window in black? I only know of it in white (and the 1 x 2 x 2 window in black)

Jonwill you can get the black windows on Bricklink and I think Pick-a-Brick has them too.

Forresto I thought about tiling the floors, but figured I would leave it with studs so the recipient could add/remove furniture without trying to get the tiles off. I have 2 minifigs with it, both fleshies from the Indy series with different clothing. I'll see if I can post a pic.

I didn't see the movie, neither, but I like this building even without it!

It looks very nice, with great details and nice symmetrical shape. Those fence and tiled pavement is great, too!

Really a great caption of the entire house.

It was so long since I saw the movie now, and only saw it once, but I definatley recognize it very well.

Good feeling and also good details to it.
