Eskallon Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Hey there I am just waiting for my parents to get home before we start our own firework display in our garden. So I was just wondering what you all think of them, do you like them, hate them, find them too dangerous, are scared or whatever? I personally don't mind them, I kinda like them and do look forward to our display but I never burst out with excitement. So what do you think of fireworks in general? Quote
zouave Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I enjoy fireworks. I think it's a lot more fun to light them than to watch. Quote
Fluyt Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Fireworks are great. Always a joy to light and to watch. Quote
prateek Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I enjoy fireworks. I think it's a lot more fun to light them than to watch. I love lighting them too. My favourite are Cherry Bombs Quote
JCC1004 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I love them. The laws on these things are awful. I love shooting rockets. You might call me a bottle rocket junkie. Quote
Batbrick Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Fireworks are powered by awesome. We sometimes stockpile a heap of really good ones with one of our neighbours for some celebration, but haven't done it in recent memory. On New Years there's quite a blast (get it? ) but the dog is terrified of them, but since I don't like him that much and prefer my cat Smokie, it's a good laugh seeing him dart under the shack. Batbrick Away! Quote
-JD- Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I have literally just come back from a display. It was fantastic, and we found a great spot to watch them! There must have been around seven supposed finales! The things I like best about them are the colours and the shockwave hitting my (muscle charged) chest. Quote
Joey Lock Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I love Fireworks. I hate the "cartwheel" things. Useless. Burn my fence. My park is doing a big fireworks display, can't see it but I can hear it. Sounds like were in a war! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I love them. The chimistry involved in their make-up and the effort that goes into the big displays is amazing. We watch the fireworks at the end of the Torbay Regatta if our holiday coinsides with the display. It does annoy me how many people don't have a clue about the history behind the "Fireworks Night" of November 5th. But then ignorance always vexes me . We had some fireworks at a party once, but my dad wouldn't let me help light them (I was about 12 though.) I wonder if I can get some friends to let a few off the next time we have a party... Quote
Spyder Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I love them! The rocket's are great, but take away from my Lego spending money. Firecrackers are also very enjoyable, and the best part is, they're super, super loud! Quote
Joey Lock Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I agree with Peppermint, people should remember Guy Fawkes. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I like fireworks a lot, you don't get the opportunity to fire and burn things every day. I'm planning to buy a lot this year, just like the previous year, and the previous one... The law isn't always happy with my kind of fireworks I think. Man I wish it was 31 December already... Quote
Batbrick Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I agree with Peppermint, people should remember Guy Fawkes. Who? You mean the guy who failed to blow up parliament and was promptly executed? Look, I can understand people enjoying historical trivia, but getting annoyed at people who don't know about something that is completely irrelevant to their own lives? I think it'd be better to adopt a "Don't know it? Fair enough, but it's interesting" stance. Batbrick Away! Quote
Milan Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I like them, too. New Year would not be the same without it! Quote
Dennimator Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) I love them. The laws on these things are awful. I love shooting rockets. You might call me a bottle rocket junkie. Amen, brother. However, personally I don´t care about like the laws, as me and my friend.. Well, we have never went out and thrown alot of smaller fireworks in a glass bottle, light the fuse and then use it kinda like a Molotov Cocktail. Never. >But it would be pretty fun. (Of course, IF we should do it, we´re extremely careful not to let the cops see us. .....Oh, and so that noone gets hurt. Right. We´re careful. No doubt. *Thinks of myself saying "BURN, BABY, BUUURN!!! :skull: *) Nah, seriously, we´re careful. In every 'suspect'. You will forget all about this. *makes jedi hand move* Edited November 8, 2009 by Dennimator Quote

My dad let me lit bottle rockets when I was about 11. He trusted me. My dad also trusted me with a pellet gun when I was 12 as well. Quote
SlyOwl Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Mmm, lovely. The sky on drugs Went to see the Lord Mayor's Fireworks on the Thames last year - immense! I should really get round to going to the Alexandra Palace ones sometime... I love Fireworks. I hate the "cartwheel" things. Useless. Burn my fence. Catharine wheels never work, eh? Quote
Big Cam Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I like them, I always have, but having grown up and being an adult with bills and responsibilites, i see them as the faster way to waste moeny. I can barely burn paper money faster than you can throw it away with fireworks. Once I get all of my debt paid off my view will likely change back but for now, they are a waste of moeny. Quote
