lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 What do you get when you put two 7641 bike shops together, a hardware store. A rural hardware store since this is for my country town. Okay, it's the same one as in My Country Town post a while back, but I have made some changes and every farmer needs somewhere to buy tools or a pump from. I have rearranged the stock and even added bench vices to the product mix. The sticker on the sign is from the farm set 7637, same rural company running the bank, also runs the hardware store. Now you might say the front of the store is naked, well WIP. Piping and fencing for sale as well as parking bays are planned. Please comment if you like. Quote
Milan Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 What about moving whole shop few studs toward the center of the baseplate and adding tires and engines in the shop? Outside definitely needs some addition...fences, lights, cans, parking... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 What about moving whole shop few studs toward the center of the baseplate and adding tires and engines in the shop?Outside definitely needs some addition...fences, lights, cans, parking... Well, I did say it's a WIP and some that blank space is there for parking vehicles off the road. Also it's a hardware store not an auto supply store and there's a great big water pump on display in the front window too if that's what you are refering to as engines. Thank you Milan for commenting anyway. Quote
Milan Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Of course, that was just a suggestion... It is not unusual for a hardware store to has tires also, at least in my city. Quote
phillip10 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Ok moc! But you are making a parking lot right? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 Ok moc! But you are making a parking lot right? First, the parking area - yes I will be doing that and including security measures againist ram raids too. On the question of tyres - I'm planning a tyre dealership joining on to and sharing the service stations driveway anyway. Thanks for the comments both of you, it's those comments that turn plain MOC's into great ones. Quote
prateek Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 This looks great. It is so realistic; it looks just like a real rural hardware store. You might want to add some things in the front. Maybe a phone booth or a tire rack or something Quote
chriz Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Nice store but the pictures cloud be bigger and the front of the shop is too empty. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 8, 2009 Author Posted November 8, 2009 Nice store but the pictures cloud be bigger and the front of the shop is too empty. Well Chriz, today I shall make a bbq gas bottle storage unit, some lawn mowers to put on display and maybe some trash cans (rubbish bins) too. I would say then it would be enough, be posting pictures later on today. Thanks to everyone who had something to say about my MOC, your input is valued. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 9, 2009 Author Posted November 9, 2009 Here's some improvements and close up photos of the interior of my rural hardware store. We now have security measures in place, a lawnmower on display (locked to a mount so no one take it) and a bbq gas bottle dispenser/storage unit. Gas bottle unit - gate closed. Gas bottle unit - gate open. Lawnmower display - yes it's based on the one in next years Creator house. Female salesperson at a scanning register with drills in a glass counter, on display too is a bore water pump. A young farmers son buying a new spade, a good range of hand tools on display in the foreground. Toilet seats, door knobs, taps, bench vices and oil cans in a large merchandiser. Mounted on its diplay stand is the bore water pump on it's own and is based around real ones farmers in Australia have available to them. Please let me know what you think now and anything else I might try in the future ? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 Well I'm sorry to say that I can only give you all a sneek peak into Hardware Store Mk3 thanks to Brickshelf not uploading. I remember many saying parts of mark 1/2 were empty, so a total redesign of the building was under taken today. What I can tell you is I moved the drinks vending machine here, added a park bench and of course a pitched roof ! I think I might have given it an American country look, but it works ! Quote
Milan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Looking good! Looking forward for full presentation! I like how your MOC is progressing! Quote
Big Cam Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Looking good, my only suggestion is to have things outside, the front lot looks so bare, maybe some tiles to make parking spaces? Quote

prateek Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Great job! I love all the display items you made and it looks very realistic! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 A comment Big Cam made got myself thinking and if you check out my MOC page for this creation of mine you will see a rearrangement of the rest area along side the hardware store. There now is a large rubbish bin and a drinking water fonte in the picture. Visit My Website on MOC pages Comment if you like and thanks to those who have commented already, every little comment helps me make improvements. Again thank you. Quote
