Okay, I like motorcycling.

So I looked at the community thread and there was a MOTORCYCLING topic. Okay reading...

NO DIRT BIKES.

Just as well, might as well start a thread anyway.

Talk all things about dirt here! ATVs welcome!

I ride a Honda CRF50F and am hoping to ride the Honda XR100R on the weekend. I will be training on the clutch and its my first time, any hints.

P.S. Moderators, if the other motorcycling topic caters for this then, I guess it should be closed unless we need an ATV topic.

Well, I'm a crazy ATV fan so I'll start us off. I have a 1988 Yamaha Big Bear, and she purrs like a kitten. This past summer I installed a new clutch and put a new muffler on her.

In the near future my Dad might buy a Polaris 500 with a honey pot seat on the back.

I will be training on the clutch and its my first time, any hints.

Go really slow and listen to your instructer.

As an active poster in the Motorcycle thread, there is no reason why you couldn't have talked about a dirt bike in that thread. I'd be more than happy to discuss dirt bikes with you, as I've owned 2 myself, which I posted in the other thread. Do you really think we need two threads?

As for operationf a clutch, it's quite simple. You should start out by letting the clutch out slowly without using any gas. That way you can get a feel for when the clutch engages. After doing that a few times, then try it whil applying a little gas. There is no real instructing that can be taught verbally, you really have to try it for yourself. I just remember when I was learning (some 15 years ago), it was important to know when the engagement point is.

Looking at our website makes me come to the impression we are mainly talking about Lego. :look:

As you already pointed out, we do have another topic about motorcycles already.

In my opinion this should be enough. Please post your ideas there. Thank you.
