squidman85 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I think it will be fantasy+action theme,like Vikings.And more castles and fortresses! Quote
cdljal Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I would like to see more sets with peasants and other civilians. the Market was very cool, but I'd like to see smaller every day type things. Quote
Habakure Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I would like to see an up dated Inn/Tavern, simple wall and a tiny house attached (So long as it has one window and a door, plus a stove), surely that isn't too much to ask for? The hole fantasy approach for me is boring, I loved vikings but the fantasy side of it made it lacking in substance for me, still, I love my long boat! Quote

You must not know of the Medieval Market Village, it has a tavern in it. Quote
LegoDad42 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Lego should base a whole castle themed-line on King Arthur. You have Camalot itself with the round table...Arthur (of course with Excalibur) and Guineverre, various Knights as Battle Packs plus a Lancelot set fighting Arthur over a bridge, Merlin's with an alchemist type lair, Morgan Le Fey,her minion, Modred and of course create a set, castle, etc were the Knights can find the Grail. Make the sets seem like to have to purchase each one to follow a storyline towards the Grail. That could shake up the Castle theme a bit with something fresh and crossing historic/literature. Quote
Hound Knight Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I voted for Romans/Greeks but it seems that's not what we're getting. Ah well, better luck next time eh? Quote
MaxGoof Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I would adore a Wild West theme! I don't know how long it could go on for or how much set diversity there would be, but I definitely think this could be a lot of fun! Quote
metalandi Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Romans or greeks would be utterly amazing. When i just think of it, i see tons of ideas for sets and endless potential. Oh i gotta stop, i already start dreaming again Quote
Grand Poobah Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 If fantasy is on the way out--which would be nice, I vote Villagers vs. Raiders--seems the most room for all kinds of sets that would dip into the best of both worlds. Personally, I'd scrap the Castle/Fantasy theme and go for Dark Ages--you have the East Romans, Italians (Venetians/Genoese), the Sassanian (Persian) Empire, and then generic Barbarian tribes. Although if LEGO did do a Dark Age theme it'd be this: Goths, Franks, Romans, Persians (this is a HUGE maybe) Quote
AncientCiv Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Lego should base a whole castle themed-line on King Arthur. Like that idea! The castle theme has always been my favorite. My last castle set was from 1993, that was until this past year when the new line from Kingdoms rolled out. The new Kingdoms subtheme is great compared to the lousy fantasy castle sets from the last decade or so. The only thing I missed out on, that I liked, was the crownies faction. Nice looking shields and armor. If LEGO finally comes out with a well designed, non-fantasy/non-action theme of any ancient civilizations...any will do really, no just Greeks or Romans....I'd quickly switch from a castle theme bias to an antiquity theme bias. So for me, of course I voted Romans or Greeks. Just as long as LEGO doesn't ruin the theme like they did with Vikings (nothing in that theme appealed to me, just too much fantasy....minifigs, structures etc.) or what they did with ancient Egypt in Pharaoh’s Quest....just too much action with the modern vehicles and the like (and no human Egyptian soldiers!). The City theme is a great example of realism/accurate depiction of the world working, I mean, would you buy a police vehicle with wings and a fire breathing dragon head on the front hood of the car? LOL I would love to see LEGO release a theme with Town/City like sets, but instead of an accurate depiction of the modern world, we'd see an accurate depiction of the Ancient world. Complete with both civilian and military sets accurate and true to history. Quote
Konrade Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Romans and Greeks for sure! Just think of the endless possibilities. A forum, a stadium, a barracks, all with great minifigs! Quote
Gregorovich Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I voted for Romans or Greeks, because the architecture we would get would be spectacular, and all the figs would be great, too. But even though I voted for them, I'd like to see most of the other ones. Quote
AhabDarab Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I voted "The fantasy theme isn't going to end". Now where did I put that time machine? Ahab out.... Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Obviously choosing ONE of these is not an acceptable option. But, if I had to select two, I'd go with a. Continuing the classic castle theme. This will never not work, and should NEVER go out of circulation in some form. Every child on this planet deserves to have the joy of a Lego castle. "No Child Left Behind... without Lego Castle!" and b. Romans and Greeks, specifically GREEKS! The world of Greek mythology is just a gold mine waiting to happen-- could you imagine all of the greatest heroes envisioned in minifig and/or Lego form: Hercules, Zeus, Jason, Icarus, even Medusa! It sounds fantastic. I guess the real problem is envisioning/creating structures that do them all justice and are appropriate. I'm sure the last thing TLG wants is an entire theme based on figures with throwaway (or immediately broken down for parts) brick-built structures. I suppose there's some definite iconic Greek structures worth exploring, like Mt. Olympus, The Parthenon, The Trojan Horse, The Colossus of Rhodes, etc. On the other hand, with first the Vikings and Fantasy series , then the Atlantis line and now Pharaoh's Quest, there seems to be a proven focus on brick built creatures, which lends itself very well to this as well. The Hydra! The Cyclops! The Kraken! Quote
Haltiamieli Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The Hydra! The Cyclops! The Kraken! What has the kraken to do with the Greeks? Quote

I like that idea. I love King Arthur stories, so to see them in Lego form would be neat. Plus, there would be more to purchasing the sets instead of just purchasing them. You'd have something to unfold while you build them. I like it. Quote
Zeya Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I voted "other", because I want to see a forestmen theme. I'd like it to be nature-oriented with a lot of greenery. You could have tree forts and wooden structures. Some bridges over water with play features. Some cool new accessories and outfits for the minifigures. Oh and don't forget a horse cart ambush! Quote
