Jedi Master Fangorn Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Okay, I am not sure if this is the right place to start a topic on this, but here it goes. I have searched for the last 30 minutes for another topic like this, and have not found anything like this question. So... How does everyone design/build their Lego world/city/town? As in, some people here have huge collections, and you might have a big "world" display on a table (I did once, I know I cannot be the only one)...how did/do you design it? Did you design it at all, or just start building? Do you mix themes in your display, do you have a big forest, mountains, and a town, or what? Pictures would be nice, but just explaining how you laid out everything would be great too. Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about! Note: I am not talking about the displays built for conferences and stuff, I am talking about personal collections built/displayed on tabletops. Quote
Milan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I build on my table, or on the large, hard bed in my room, depending on how long I am going to build. Since my room is at the same time my TV room, computer room, bedroom, study room, and Lego room, where I keep all the sorted parts in pretty organized drawers it is very hard to prepare surrounding for building. But when I do, I sit on the table, place my drawers around me, so I do not have to get up during building. Or if I do not have much time, I just place MOC on the bed and some most necessary parts for building it. Of course, I spend a lot of designing (80%) in MLCad. I keep my MOC on the closed shelf and covered with something, to ensure no dust will catch on it. Quote
