So there's this new drama show from ABC called FlashFoward. It's about this incident in which the whole world blacked out simultaneously for exactly 2 minutes and seventeen seconds, causing mass destruction. But more importantly, every person had a vision of the future, and each vision took place at the exact same time in the future.

The show is mainly about an FBI branch office trying to solve the intriguing mysteries of the blackout: why it happened, who or what caused it, if the FlashForwards will come true... among other riddles. It's turned out to be a great show so far, ABC is on the fifth episode now in America. If you haven't already, and you're interested in these kind of shows (this is similar to LOST), I highly suggest you tune in on Thursdays (check the paper for times), or if it doesn't air in your area, watch episodes online.

So, I am wondering who else watches this, and what you think of the show so far, as well as your thoughts on the mysteries and such.

Also, beware of spoilers.

I am usually pretty hesitant when it comes to shows on ABC (the only one I watch is Lost), but this show is actually really good. The plot is totally original, and why there are some classic character cliches (recovering alcoholic and other things) I really like the structure and story. I also like how they have brought in former members of Lost.

That's good to hear. I think I will be content with show taking Lost's place, but a review in the paper revealed that the producers are planning on having virtually every mystery solved, except for the reason why the blackout was caused, by the end of the season. They also said that they hoped that the show could live off of this last riddle for a few more seasons. :sceptic: Hopefully, more riddles will pop up in the future seasons, because it would be pretty boring with just one.

You could do what I soon plan to do, watch them over the internet.

You can usually find full TV episodes on megavideo.com. They're quality sometimes isn't the best, but at least they don't just have half of an episode.

This weeks episode should be interesting. It's really good to see Dominic Monaghan in this show. I loved his acting in Lost and X-Men Origins.

I was greatly looking forward to this new series, but for all the past episodes I had to ask my mum to record them for me. I should catch up this weekend...

I don't have ABC at my apartment, but I have been watching this show on their website the day after it airs. I have to say, I'm really intrigued and continue to look forward to each episode.

Having said that, this is no LOST. The dialogue sometimes borders on downright unbearable, and to me it just comes off as a LOST lite (a lesser version that the original). I get this sense that the producers and writers are trying too hard to be "cool", what with the lesbians and random expletives thrown in at times.

And can anyone care to explain the ending to last Thursday's episode? The whole scene just didn't feel right for some reason, maybe it was the weird music that was playing in the background that made the whole thing surreal.

Of course it's not. Nothing will ever be as great as LOST, never. I know what you mean about the lameness the show has sometimes. I don't really like what they're doing with the characters- Mark has become temperamental and predictable, traits that, IMO, shouldn't be those of a main character. Some of the other characters are becoming... questionable as well. :sceptic:

The music is nothing new to me- I've seen it done in many action/ death scenes. And that's just what the music is for, to make the death/ injury of a character have a bigger impact on the viewer because it seems so surreal. What I didn't get about last week's episode was how the four FBI agents escaped the car with barely a scratch. There's no way in hell that you could get out and away from the car in time to escape the explosion.

Spoiler Alert:

Last night's episode was pretty good. I didn't quite understand the scene with the blue hand on Boston Ave., and the bodies in the mansion. Also, they keep promoting Dominic Monaghan's appearance in the show (for two weeks now), but he's only had about five minutes of screen time total so far, and no role except for that he

caused the blackout

(which we know little about). The scene with the masked teenagers was kind of weird, too, but the episode was interesting enough.
