Thrash Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 The Space Police finally located Dr. Lava's secret hideout on a desolate volcanic planet, but when they attempted to climb onto the walkway, they were detected by his defense robots and are one by one being thrown into the river of lava. The Space Police trying to get in: A few of Dr. Lava's workers working on some repairs: Dr. Lava and a few of his guards watch the Space Police: One of Dr. Lava's spaceships on the landing platform: Hope you like it! Inconspicuous Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 This is a simply amazing MOC! I love some of the techniques you've used, like the clear windows, and the 3D Door. The repair workers are a great touch and the ship is well designed. It's a bit bloody for my taste, but well executed, slick, and detailed. Keep up the fabulous work! Quote
Carbohydrates Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Seeing as they tracked an individual named Dr. Lava to a world full of lava, they really should have been better prepared for this sort of thing! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Hurray for giving SP3 a badguy who isnt alien!!! I love the moc. It's huge!!! Id like to see the sp vehicle and a little more action! Quote
Legostein Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Hello! That's a real Spot-on creation! So many lovely details and moving minifigures. It's acting minifigures who make a moc lively. Although the one sunk in the lava won't be that lively in future I guess. The landing platform and the ship on it are definitely a highlight in that scene as well! All the cylinders and curved slopes give the ship a real fantastic look. And I like the trans-red diamonds, which I also tend to use often. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
I Scream Clone Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 A very cool creation Thrash, I can only suggest a little colour on the walls to lift the whole creation. The space ship is great with loads of streamlining, the tentacles are a nice creation, but the favourite for me is the awesome looking blast doors, these are just and will no doubt inspire me some where down the line. Good stuff. Quote
Batbrick Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Great stuff Thrash! Love the design of the guards, and that evil looking spaceship is swell. The statue is a neat touch, and the design of the walkway is great too. Those blast doors are fantastic. I do agree with I Scream Clone, it does need a little colour though, but the robot tentacles make up for it. Batbrick Away! Quote
Captain Genaro Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Mabey they could ring the doorbell. This is an interesting MOC, I wonder how the one space police guy fell into the lava. Quote
Milan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Very nice and creative MOC.! I like the black floor and the lava! Quote
Thrash Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments guys! Seeing as they tracked an individual named Dr. Lava to a world full of lava, they really should have been better prepared for this sort of thing! Hahaha, good point. A very cool creation Thrash, I can only suggest a little colour on the walls to lift the whole creation. The space ship is great with loads of streamlining, the tentacles are a nice creation, but the favourite for me is the awesome looking blast doors, these are just and will no doubt inspire me some where down the line.Good stuff. Color on the wall would have been a good idea. I tried to add a few trans-red bricks, but in the end they got covered up with the spikes. Oh well! Glad you liked the blast doors...I can't wait to see what great MOC you use them in! Great stuff Thrash! Love the design of the guards, and that evil looking spaceship is swell. The statue is a neat touch, and the design of the walkway is great too. Those blast doors are fantastic. I do agree with I Scream Clone, it does need a little colour though, but the robot tentacles make up for it. Thanks Batbrick! There really isn't anything better than robot tentacles weilding sci-fi swords. ~Thrash Quote
