Caramon352 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hi community... I saw woody's excellent work on the acessories, helmets and so on. In which way are they done? What do I need to do such things? I'm not really new to 3d modelling, I know some the basics already, butwhat do I need especially for LEGO customization? Every help is welcome... Admiral Croissant Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I'd say, just sent a pm to Woody. If you don't know how to: search one of his posts, then click on his name and choose 'send message' Quote
NewRight Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I believe he does something called 3D printing. I could be wrong so don't hold me to it. Like said above me I would PM him to find out more. I can't wait to see what you bring to the customization community. Quote
Caramon352 Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 "Like said above me I would PM him to find out more." @ New Right I don't know why, but I can't PM him... there always occurs an error... Quote
woody64 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) I don't know why, but I can't PM him... there always occurs an error... Strange, maybe an admin has to take a look on it. For 3d printing you need: - 3d construction program (I use k-3d and blender) - a producer (I use shapeways) http://www.shapeways.com/ - a caliber to measure some dimensions directly from minifigs - some tutorials: http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/ - some personal additional tools to check the constructions I use ViscamView (Marcam) Woody64 Edited October 18, 2009 by woody64 Quote
Caramon352 Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Hey woody, do you have msn or icq? 'Cause I think it would be better, to talk in german via iq or msn... perhaps you could explain some things to me. Would that be possible? Quote
