Skipper 24 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) I believe this is new. Lego Digital Designer v 3.0 has now been released here. Also instead of factory we now have the name 'Design by Me'. Instead of downloading the software again you can simply update it to the latest version by opening an older version of LDD. Some of the features have been revised, such as hinge tool. Discuss . (wrong place? Please can an admin move.) Edited October 13, 2009 by Skipper 24 Quote
Scorpion Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Although the program updated, did the part selection actually change? It seems like the same to me. If not, does anyone know when it will change/update? Props to Skipper24! Quote

Joey Lock Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Shame is that since my whole internet browsing (Not connection for some strange reason) has gone, I cannot update or send my creations to the Website. What new pieces or removed pieces are there? Quote
nintha Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I downloaded it and I thought it was going to be great... Well it was at first and designing the box was cool but then I saw the price and my draw dropped. It was exactly $74.34 for 16 different Pet Cubes I made and it was only 319 pieces. That is OUTRAGES for the peice to price ratio. Now my parents won't let me order it. And I think the part selection is the same. Quote
Scorpion Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Strangely, the selection of orderable parts is the same, but the library of unorderable parts was actually increased... (namely technic pieces) Quote

This is why I started to use Bricklink.com. You can find tons of cheap pieces and discontinued pieces. I just use LDD to design my item then go to bricklink to buy it. Also, when ever I hit E it won't erase the bricks, it just says all pieces are buyable. Quote
Legoliner Pilot Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Is it just me, or did they remove all the parts that you couldn't buy in the first place like NXT sensors and train track? Quote
captaincreek Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I recently downloaded the new ldd, I was impressed with some new features, such as the improved case design and the generated instructions for your model, I think I'll make an order to see what it's like. Quote
-Jim- Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Is any one experiencing problems with LDD 3.0 in Windows 7? When I try to run the program I get a 75% loaded image of the program and the when I try anything it keeps trying to refresh the screen and freezes up. My Graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS 4gig ram duel core @ 2.60GHz loads of memory? Any hints? Quote

My Graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS 4gig ram duel core @ 2.60GHz loads of memory? Any hints? It's probably just because it's not compatible with Windows 7. I have a lot of games that don't work because I use Vista. Quote
