God Iron Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I've noticed something fishy in the Ratchet and Clank series of games. In the Tools of Destruction installment, they was a Vorox galaxy. Coincidence right? Well in the newest sequel A Crack In Time, there are Agorian warriors. Lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice, does it? Quote
Omicron Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Coincidence? When it comes to games like that, what do you expect with names? -Omi Quote
Bundalings Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Actually lightening strikes twice in the same place all the time. But that really has nothing to do with this. It's probably a coincidence... those words just have a ring to them... names get copied accidentally. ~Bunda Quote
Natman8000 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Coincidence? When it comes to games like that, what do you expect with names? -Omi I agree. Chances are they're both taking it from other sources and using it. Alot of these names are from other languages, or a perversion of it. Quote
God Iron Posted November 8, 2009 Author Posted November 8, 2009 Another strange thing, some robots in the game have weapons that greatly resemble Cordak Blast. A think its beyond a idea now. Quote
Cap'n Kopaka Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Well technically speaking the errors could occur pretty easily because of the Latin roots that are used widely in sci-fi and fantasy. I'm surprised there's no "Malum" or "Gelu" in both, as well :P I'm not sure about Agori, but I know that Vorox is a slight variation on the Latin word for hunger or gluttony, and it sounds like an alien race name anyways. "Agori" could mean villager or something but I'm too lazy to look it up atm. As for the Cordak Blasters, they're pretty much giant revolvers. I've seen plenty of similar things in sci-fi, especially video games. ~cap'n Quote

Omicron Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Really I didn't know... I mean they are 100% The same, red missles, middle part, everything! Other toys prior to Bionicle had red missiles too. -Omi Quote
doctordark Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I'm just wondering is the weapon that looks like a cordak blaster is from what game? Quote
Adam Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 The original RYNO also resembles a Cordak Blaster, and the first Ratchet and Clank was released a long time ago. Agori is also a communications network and a Hindu sect, and a Vorox is a creature from the Fading Sun books (it's amazing what ten seconds on Google can accomplish). There are similarities and coincidences and all that nonsense everywhere. If there's a can of Coke in one movie, did they lift that idea off of previous movie? No. Quote
