LEGO Cloaks with hood - Question

Hi all!

I once saw a very nice custom of a Jedi, with a realistic cloak. It even had a hood attached, I saw a few others with it, however, it was never mentioned how to make them, so if anyone knows more about them, please tell me. I would like to make some (and if possible one for a small short-legged minifig), but I have no idea how to...

I can't find the exact one I found back then, but I think (not sure though) that this one is just the same design. If anyone could tell me where to find a tutorial/instruction to make this, I would highly appreciate it!

Here is another one with a pic of the back, but then in brown.

I believe they are for sale, but they are a little expensive and I saw that some other people who had them, a few of them made it by themselves. (atleast, I think so..)

I also want to make a Yoda-sized one... (in tan)

Making your own might be difficult though, especially if you don't have the correct fabric. I don't think anyone has a template on EB, although I will search around a bit more because I'm quite interested too.

I've seen something similar in this Ebay shop. I've ordered from them and I highly recommend them. Here's a specific example of the cloak. Is this what you imagined?

They aren't too expensive, and I'm sure you could request a Custom Yoda one.

Hmm..not really, I was looking for one with sleeves..but thanks anyways. I hope there is a not-too-hard way to make them, otherwise I would have to buy them for $9 each... (from UA or something)

I've been looking into it as well. As far as templates go I know MMCB on BrickShelf has some template and his store as well. I also think that at local fabric stores you should be able to find fabric that you can simply run right through your printer. I'll let you know if anything else comes up.

Sorry General Magma, but I just saw this thread.

I actually purchased a few of these from UnknownArtist over a year ago. I think these robes with hoods are great. The hood actually rests on the back and doesn't have that 'cone' effect when draped. You should definitely pick up a few.

I'm almost 100% sure the only way to get a hooded cloak like this is to buy from UA.

Didn't MMCB say they were making a hood to go with their other products?

Those are sweet. All the holsters would make for some excellent fig accesories.

I would also assume it would not be too difficult to make them yourself with a little bit of cloth.
