Hello my fellow Eurobrickers,

For my next project I am planning to make a 1950's town in US-style, so with the buildings, the style and the cars of that time periode. (I am still in need of some photo's/pictures of street scenes from that time period, so if anyone have some please post them here).

Inspired by the work of Misterzumbi I made this car, but quickly realised that my collection is not sufficiently extensive to make 20-30 cars like this. Which I think is a good number of automobiles for an entire town. I have started making cars in 4 wide now.

So I am left with just this six-wide one as a sort of study object. During the build I gained quite some respect for Misterzumbi: cars like these are not easy to make! I like the result though.

In the back ground a fifties diner is visible, the first building in the town (next to the buildings of Town Plan I already had).

There is no particular model I based this car on, though it looks slightly like a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air

The underside, I had quote some trouble fitting the rear axle so the wheels wouldn't hit the sides of the mudguards.

Questions, comments and fifties pictures of American streets welcome!

Very nicely built mate! Really captures the 50's style. Does a minifig fit inside?

Thanks!

I did not yet try to fit a minifig inside, I am afraid it doesn't fit though, the roof will probably be too low...

It does look a little small for a WHOLE minifig to sit inside... maybe you could fit a legless one in instead?

shamne minifigs aren't properly sized - when did you see a person with a head the same size as their body?
