Evil Willy Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Well I was at Wal-Mart today with my mother...And as I do always I went into the LEGO section only to find nothing. I was looking through seeing more MEGA BLOKS than LEGO's and was quite disapointed...But I still looked at everything tha was there and stumbled onto this. Im looking at the box and im like cool..A lion, a bird, and a...Wolf? But then I saw the piece count...630? For 30$cad...Nice and I got it. Well when I opened it up I figured out it was FULL of tan pieces...Most of them which would be very nicely used in a spaceship moc. So here is my review. First off the box Front Back you can see some of the alternative designs which can be made with this set. There are two instruction books..With 9 instructions of different things and 26 ideas! Soo to show you the lion..Which is massive by the way..Completly built out of bricks..No big pieces..Its absolutly stunning. Side Face Comparison to Evil Willy's pirate ship..The Lotus Big ehh? Here is a pic of the joints close up So I think the lion is perfect..it couldnt be better, he has infinite flexibility to form almost any pose you would want him too...And looks great. Now for the not so great models The bird Its wings I find it sort of thin and..Well its ugly. I dont really like it but heh? Take it apart..Make something else! And now the wolf This one is nice..But he doesnt have much flexibility..Only his legs. Overall he is alright but more of a piece thing. Here are all the things that you could buld if you took apart everything... And Some extra pieces after having built the lion..The wolf and the bird ________________________________________________________________________________ ______ I think that anyone who loves space...or is looking to make a narnia set up should buy this. the lion is just beautiful..And if your looking to build spaceships he is perfect. He has sooooo many good pieces, really too much. this is a great parts set for any serious designer..I recomend it to all of you, espicially for the price. a normal 30$ set you get ~200 pieces...This one has over 600! Overall 9.8/10 Amazing! BTW I dont know what category this is. Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Well it seems noone cares..I was hoping to make some of you guys buy this set for it is soo wonderful. Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I might buy it if it is on sale, it has some really useful parts for a spaceship MOC. Lots of curves etc. :-D Thanks for the review! Quote
Zane Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Cool. I suppose the models with pages next to them have instructions and a light-bulb is just an idea, right? TT Quote

KimT Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I think it's a great set - I even been close to buying it a few times. Took SW sets instead. Thanks for the pics - they have succeeded in convincing me that this set is a must have. Along with the dinosaur set. Nice review, but I do believe it's a hyeana (did I spell this correctly) and not a wolf. ;) KimT Quote

Sir Dillon Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Nice review Willy. I now want this set more then before. |-/ As for the brown frog thing, It looks sort of like the moster from Star Wars Luke fights in Jabba's palace in ROTJ to me... But I'm guessing it's supposed to be a monkey or something. Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 yup thats what I thought...But it has offally big fingers for a monkey. Quote
KimT Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 yup thats what I thought...But it has offally big fingers for a monkey. According to LEGO Magazine Issue 5 (the Christmas Edition) it's a gorilla - go figure :| BTW Could You build the crocodile and post some pics of it? it looks awesome :oD KimT Quote
dunamis Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Thanks for the pics - they have succeeded in convincing me that this set is a must have. Along with the dinosaur set. IMO - both dinosaur sets are excellent! Lots of great models and nice selection of parts that can be used for spaceships and MOCs. Lots of the "Republic Red" color... Quote
