Brick & Mortimer Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I think it would looks very nice with the upcoming Winter Toy Shop. I agree. I bought the Winter Toy Shop as a X-mas gift to myself and persuaded my girlfriend to buy me the calendar to create a nice winter scene. If only Christmas would come sooner Quote
Rick Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Then, did you look at the review's picture at all? I finally gave in. I now know what's coming until the 24th This is my favorite advent calendar so far. In fact I like it so much, I've ordered a second copy from Amazon.de (it's on sale there now for under €10). But when I tried to find this thread I noticed it's not in the Trains and Town Review Index. You might want to fix that. Quote

Glad to know that you have enjoyed this advent calendar very much. I am still considering whether to get a second set to help building up my town population. Since it's on sales on your side, it's defintely worthwhile getting another one. But when I tried to find this thread I noticed it's not in the Trains and Town Review Index. You might want to fix that. Thanks for pointing it out. I have update this inside our Trains & Town Reviews Index. Quote
Dennimator Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Great review! Mine should arrive this week. I can't wait to get it! EDIT:I was mistaken, sorry, go on, go on... Edited December 18, 2009 by Dennimator Quote
Rick Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) I have a question; as Chriz apparently got banned, will he still get his prize? Or will someone of the ones who didn´t win be randomly selected after day 24 to win his prize? I´m just curious. Wrong Advent Calendar topic ... I thought you were going to claim he was the third member of your family that won Edited December 18, 2009 by Rick Quote
Dfenz Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I rated it a 2. There is something unmagical about this year's set so far. I think each days offerings seem sparser than in previous years although this might just be my perception as I haven't compared the piece counts to previous sets. The pirate advent calendar which is being opened each day seems to be far superior. I also think that this year's set is overpriced. Quote

Xenophilius Studz Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I've only gotten three Advent Calenders: 2005, 2008, and 2009. Out of all of them I liked 2009 the best. All Advent Calenders are awesome. 24 days of simple goodies to add to your city. But I like this year the most because it felt more holiday-themed than previous years. I mean we usually get fireman and police officers and criminals to rule our calender. But this year, we get a kid, toys, a Christmas Tree, Santa, ice skating, mailman to deliver presents, snowmen, and hot chocolate. I easily felt more of a "winter/holiday-vibe" to this year rather than previous years. Quote

Maybe not in piece selection, which most 'complaints' seem to be about, but the models certainly have a nice holiday atmosphere. Except maybe for the cop, but the traffic light is nice to have nonetheless. Quote
The Cobra Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I ended up owning one of these, which I wanted to resell but will actually keep. And I'll be placing extra 1x1 rounds as Xmas tree decorations. I still think it's under par, but not that awful (plus, I got it for 25% off). It's probably the most Advent-focused (or, at least, winter-focused) amongst Lego minifigs calendar. "Funny" how this set has a printed checkered flag and the Ferrari set had a neutral flag plus stickers. Quote
legowill1 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 It's a really Awsome set! Better than 2008! Quote
Soundmanred Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 It's a really Awsome set! Better than 2008! This is my first year getting a LEGO Advent set since my daughter is now old enough to start enjoying LEGOs and I'm very excited! The sets and minifigs aren't the best, but having a Santa will thrill her for sure. Quote
