gogobig Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 BB all the way. My reason behind it is rather simple; take out the sails, make custom ones and soldiers have their ship as well ;) Quote
PittSOB Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 To post a follow up on this question I made a while back I purchased a second soldier's fort. Toyed around with it for a few weeks and decided having 2 just isn't that great. I even tried to MOC a few things but other than the base (water/dock) parts you really don't get enough pieces to make much more than what you already have( a prison and a tower) without adding many many more pieces. The figures aren't impressive either if you already have all the sets you have multiple Brickbeards and soldiers. So I sold it on eBay and bought a second shipwreck hideout. At least with this set you have a good selection of pieces and some (slightly) more interesting figures. Had I waited a week I would have grabbed a second BB at TRU with their 30 percent off sale. Although with the imperial flagship comming I dont have much need to MOC a second ship so I probably made the best choice with shipwreck hideout. Funny note, I originally hated shipwreck hideout when the line came out and it was the LAST set I bought but the more I look at it the more I like it. I just wish it wasn't a TRU exclusive. I hate giving them my money after they raise the prices so much. Quote
squidman85 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I have all sets except the ship and the shipwreck. The most which i like is soldiers fort(port). It;s a good set,but 49.99 price is to big for this set. Quote
Colonel Grey Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The Fort is a good edition to make biggers forts i'm gonna make my first stop motion movie and will be building several sets gonna be about the imperial soldiers fighting and surviving so im starting to build-up my collection shame they did not make a 2009 ship for the imperials there is also a tic tac toe pirate set 10 figures for 15 euro is a sweet deal Quote
Bfahome Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 BB for sure. I could just rip apart Shipwreck hideout and use some of those pieces to make the Soldier's fort bigger if I really wanted to. But the opportunity to make an ultimate pirate ship is what I'd go for. Plus I love those new sharks. Quote
ziljin Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I want to get a Brickbeard's bounty, but it seems too large to fit in with anything. I am not sure 100usd for a giant ship is worth it when I don't have the money to build an awesome setting/base for it. I assume they will always have ships, and they even had two for the recent castle line. So I guess I could always wait until I have a tremendous amount of lego to get a sip set. Quote
JCC1004 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I'd go wih the Imperial Flagship but it doesn't count. I's go with Soilder's Fort. As previously sadi it's too small. With two I could easily make one nice one. I could also build up a nice little red coat army. Quote
Ratshot Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Brickbeards Bounty, I'd buy it mostly for the pieces, I really could use some ship hulls. I want to build a merchant ship. Quote
